My son and I went here since he was in the mood for pizza. I kinda wanted a good pizza and wings myself. We didn't want your normal fast food type of pizza...something better...something with a different flavor. I remembered going here with our youth group one time and that they had more of a brick oven type of pizza and that the wing weren't too bad. So he and I went here and we got the calamari (my boy loves calamari), 6 wings (2 flavors and were whole wings not sections like at all the other places), 1 pizza (half and half, half pepperoni and half meats) and 2 drinks. Total cost was $35.
The calamari was good by itself for the most part. I say for the most part because the breading was kinda loosely on the squid. The sauce they have for the calimari tasted like a little more than a chunky tomato sauce. I did discover that it tasted pretty good in the wing sauces (both the sweet and spicy and buffalo). You get a decent amount for the price.
The half and half worked great for us since we wanted something different on our pizzas and didn't want to order 2 pizzas (especially considering the price, which isn't too bad per si, but definitely not comparable to Little Ceaser's prices). The size for what you pay doesn't match what you would expect. The flavor on other hand is good to go. I tried both the pepperoni and meats pizza. Only thing flavor wise that seemed a bit off was the sausage on the pizza itself seemed to be off a bit...close to throw out time type of flavor.
6 wings will run you $8.50 plus tax. When you compare that to other places, it's a really good deal since other places give you sections versus the whole wing. So to get the equivalent elsewhere you'd have to get 12 wings. The overall flavor and texture of the wings were good. The meatiness is a bit better than elsewhere as well. Definitely worth the price.
Service and atmosphere...they do very well with. What seems like what used to be a old warehouse, they have transformed well. It looks nice inside and they have a good comfortable area outside. The young lady that was taking the orders was very friendly and was the one that let me know that you could do half and half on the pizzas, otherwise I wouldn't have known since I didn't see it on the board or the individual menus. She was friendly and engaging with the other customers as well (little ones included). Time to get your order wasn't bad...especially when you consider they are making your order fresh. They have free wi-fi to help out in the kids watching their videos or playing their games. Additionally, they offer a military discount.

Read moreWhen we stopped in at Oakwood Cafe for breakfast, we found Cherokee and decided to give it a try for dinner. We ordered a few different pies and some wings. I normally snap a few photos of the menu as a reference point for which pies we ordered, but I forgot to do that this time. Sorry. I do though, remember that we ordered the cheese pie (I believe it's called The Marge), one with peppadew peppers, The Cap, and the meats only pie. Before you judge me on the number of pies we ordered...they're small pies, not quite personal in size, but almost. Each pie was cooked in their brick oven and it was evident that they were. Nice thin crust pies with fresh toppings and a wonderful house made sauce (CPB Sauce). I just live the tasry pockets of fresh mozzarella. Personally, I think they could have been left in the oven a tad bit longer to get those well done burnt edges and imperfections you do not get with boring conveyor belt pizza.
Wings: We ordered the sweet & spicy and regular spicy buffalo sauce. These were the best wings I have ever eaten that do not taste deep fried (even though they were). I wondered if they were finished off in the brick oven because they had a slight char on them.
Simple menu, but they need some root beer...pizza just isn't the same (for me) without root beer since I do not drink alcoholic beverages.
Nice decor and great service from the staff too.
We'll be back,...
Read moreVERY LOUD! So if you have sensory issues, maybe bring headphones/noise canceling earbuds. The food was good! Party of 3, we each got our own personal pizza (could've shared with my husband, but he wanted lunch for the next day). LOTS of options for toppings. 25 year old son only gets Hawaiian pizza, said the pineapple tasted fresh! Husband got mozzarella, sausage, and peperoni on his, and I (sorta) wish I had too, it looked soooo good all oooy-gooey and melty! I ordered the veggie, subbing the red sauce out for the oil and garlic sauce, next time, I think I'll do the pesto instead. It was loaded down with so many veggies I think I hit my weekly requirement. While we were eating, the servers walked past a few times with bowls of salad that were big- think Olive Garden size-almost.. They were single orders, I believe 🤔 We got fountain drinks with the "good" ice!! They have one of those pick your flavor kind of fountain things!! Fun!!! Beers on tap, so many to choose from!! And they offer a flight!! Woohooo!! Wine you say? Yes, some wine too, and Frosé=frozen rosé looked like an instant migraine for me personally, but I know more than a few friends who would LOVE that!! OLD SCHOOL ARCADE GAMES!!! Booo! Not open yet. Maybe more business will bring them the revenue they need to get it there, and my 5th☆ Bottom line here, great fresh food,...
