Oakwood Cafe — Restaurant in Dalton

We have been eating at Oakwood once a week for years! Lately the service you get depends on the waitress you have. Every time we have Megan she is fast friendly and great at offering suggestions! We have never had a problem with her!!!! She does her job well and is friendly to EVERYONE! Today we had another waitress Griselda (not sure if that is the correct spelling as she had no name tag) who has always been rude every time we have came in contact with her. She sticks her nose in the air and rushes you to order. This particular day she practically refused to let the 2 kids that were with us order from the kids menu because she seemed to think they were not under 12 based on the southeast shirts they were wearing! (They just had raider day and got shirts-these kids are in middle school are order form the kids menu weekly) it is extremely rude how she felt like she could tell me how old they were and then proceeded to argue with me in front of customers! THEN she proceeded to go to the back and loudly tell other waitresses about it using her hands and awful ugly faces! NEXT another worker goes and puts a sign on the register stating that kids meals are for ages 12 and under and walks around and states all of this to the other waitresses! This is terrible customer service and rude and tacky! We ate the rest of our meal without a single refill! It was definitely a disappointing meal! We will not be back!! Our server was very nice and efficient. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin with 2 sides: cucumber & tomato salad and 1 other side (sorry, I can't remember what the 2nd side was). He enjoyed his meal & said it was good. I was not very hungry so I ordered just a baked sweet potato. My sweet potato was also very good. The problem was how the food came out. A very young man came out & set a plate of pork tenderloin & 1/2 of a sweet potato in front of my husband. He told the young man that the plate must go go someone else. The young man rudely told him that this was his order. Our server noticed the confusion & immediately came over. We explained to her that it was not his order & that he had ordered 2 other sides. She explained that his sides were coming, & that the sweet potato was for me. I asked why I didn't get my own plate??? She offered to get me a plate. Then she said she'd go to the kitchen & get me a whole sweet potato (which was what I had ordered) and that she would leave the 1/2 sweet potato on his plate at no charge. The same young man delivered my sweet potato (on my own plate) to me a few minutes later. He definitely had an attitude and wouldn't even look at me or speak to me. All of the food was good, & our server was very nice and attentive, refilling our water glasses & hecking to make sure our food was OK, etc. But my order coming out on my husband's plate AND the young man's nasty attitude left us not wanting to...

This is probably one of the worst experiences that I have ever had at Oakwood Café. I have been several times and never quite been impressed but this one really takes the cake. The wife and I decide to finally give this restaurant another try after our last visit was just "meh". We sit down at a booth a waiter takes our order. I ordered Mashed potatoes only to be told they had none and the wife asked for cornbread (which is apart of their everyday menu) only to be told they also didn't have any cornbread. Anyways we place our order and our food is back out within a very quick amount of time. Most of our food is cold and and entire plate just feels as if it has been microwaved. The food was disgusting nearly inedible! While we were getting ready to go we turn towards the kitchen only to see a fresh pan of steaming mashed potatoes, you know the potatoes they didn't have? The staff In the back room was playing very loud music and have begun their end of night procedures even though closing is nearly an hour away. We were never checked on once by our waiter or any other staff.

It's almost as if the staff do not feel like making the customers any fresh food and dish out whatever they have left over from the day and microwave it.

To put my visit in just a few short words Terrible service. Garbage reheated leftovers and outright Unprofessional
