Update: In response to your comment on my review, you may not âhave anything to do with weddingsâ now (good choice btw) but at the time of the review you did, as was stated on your website as well (which of course no longer does). I think itâs fairly irresponsible to reply nearly a year later and imply that I mistakingly made a review on your shop page. We both know thatâs not the truth Gina. I have screenshots from the website stating your Wedding Planning services. Just because you no longer offer them does not negate the fact that nearly a year and a half later, when we mention Allisons wedding you are still the main topic. I hope your bridal shop is going well. As I stated, itâs beautiful. The only reason I gave 1 star instead of 0 is because the flower arrangements were gorgeous. The bridal shop itself is beautiful, wedding event planning/coordinating was a joke. There was a serious lack of communication, she was late to several appts with the bride, no showed a couple of them, hardly participated in the rehearsal, was late to the rehearsal, was told she would arrive at 3p for a 7pm wedding & and she got there at 445p. No communication with the bridesmaids even though the Maid of Honor was officiating the wedding. And to top it off, got an attitude with another bridesmaids after the ceremony over table placement (in which the bridesmaids & their spouses were helping to move because she had no other staff besides 1 girl who stood around the whole time) & proceeded to argue with her after the bridesmaid said ok & walked away. She came back telling her âyou need to calm down, this is MY event & you need to let me do my jobâ. The MOH stayed she wasnât doing her job very well and no one even knew what was going on, to which she replied âand why do YOU need to know whatâs going on?â One would think the people IN the actual wedding would need to know what to do & where to go. She stomped off to the brides mother & came back a few minutes later stating âshe would just leaveâ so we could enjoy our night. She proceeded to set up the tables & then left. The brides family and friends had to break down & clean up the reception. She had the nerve to tell the brides mother that she hasnât been paid yet & she could be home with her family instead of here and would not be talked to that way or disrespected. Your whole job as a wedding or event planner is to make your client happy & keep it as stress free as possible, & she failed on every level. The lack of professionalism has left me floored, & it was the talk of the entire wedding. A day that was meant to be focused on the bride and groom ended up being focused on how unprofessional & obnoxious the wedding planner was. Such a...
Read moreThis store is a gem. I had an appointment at 10 AM on a Saturday (in July), and we had the entire store to ourselves. Wendy and Curry were a joy to spend time with. They were personable, funny, and truly made this experience even better! After introductions, chatting, and showing us to the bridal area, they provided me with small clips to clip to the dresses that I wanted to try on. We were free to go through all the dresses (I didn't feel pressured when browsing). Also, Wendy would pull recommendations during the try on when she could see a style I liked. After four previous bridal shops and feeling a bit discouraged, I finally found the one here at Wimsy on Main! Originally, I had planned to try to book an appointment at one of the bigger shops in Chatanooga, but they were all booked up. I am so glad they were, or I would've never driven to Dalton, GA, to visit this store. It truly was meant to be. I found Wimsy while browsing through Google. I reviewed their website/Instagram page and saw where they carried different designer dresses and seemed to have a good variety. At first, I was hesitant because it seemed like a smaller boutique (which I had been having no luck at prior) and felt like maybe I should try one of the 'big" bridal shops. I would've been missing out. So don't miss out! I highly recommend checking out this store. They carry a lot of pretty dresses (different styles, patterns, good quality and you can tell Wendy takes pride in what they have to offer) I also bought my veil! Wendy does a great job at pairing veil options to your dress. After saying YES, they celebrate with you, you get to sign their dress and they will take pictures of you and whoever you brought. So don't hesitate to make a trip and...
Read moreAll I can state is facts about the wedding I attended yesterday. I donât know what happened during the planning stages. The positive thing was we all kind of came together and picked up the slack to make it a good experience for the bride and groom. The family said the wedding planner missed appointments with the bride and bridesmaids and showed up late to some. She Showed up late to the wedding and said it was because of traffic but yet we all got there on time and had to come the same route lol. She left the wedding about halfway through the event. She was rude to some off the attendees because they had questions about what was supposed to happen when... I guess that would be understandable if she would have been running everything smooth, but that wasnât the case. The bridesmaids and husbands and other attendees jumped in to run the show because the wedding planner didnât really have anything organized or planned at all from what I could see. Iâve been to my fair share of weddings and the wedding planner always runs the rehearsal, coordinates with vendors, goes to meetings about the wedding, runs the rehearsal and the wedding and gets there on time and stays for the whole event... I canât say that I saw any of that happen. She did make a fuss about getting paid for the event after she said she was going to leave , and she made some comments about how she could be spending her time doing something with family instead of being at the wedding... which honestly in retrospect probably would have been better and less stressful for everyone. If you want a punctual, organized, and professional wedding planner this is not the...
