We thought our waitress was new the first time we visited so we gave them the benefit of the doubt, but months later we come back and she still sucks. (Yes it was the same waitress. We recognized the StarWars tattoo). After she took our order she sent another waitress back to “confirm it”.

Food took a while to come out and when it did, the appetizer came out the same time as the main meal - that should not happen. ESPECIALLY when it’s basically empty.

Drinks are empty. No one checks on you. And we even tried to wave her down but… nope. She’s in the corner chatting away with her back to us.

Food was decent. Hot and edible. Drinks (when we HAD one) were good. Music was definitely NOT kid or family friendly, but it IS a bar. There was karaoke, but the music in between was uncomfortable with language.

Parking was fine since it was only 8 pm on a Thursday. Overall the place was clean.

When she FINALLY came to our table, she apologized stating she’s been slammed tonight running around training another person. Um… no you were. We watched you for at least 20 minutes standing around chatting and on your phone! Please don’t treat me like an idiot.

We will NOT be back. Shame because the place could be really great.

In response to the owner: Thank you for your timely response. I do understand the 18+ policy after 8pm. We were actually there about 7 because when we left it was just after 8. I also gave credit to the fact that this IS a bar and most families aren’t coming here with their littles, but when there is THAT MUCH language in the music, maybe save those for the after 8 pm crowd?

I do hope things improve because the two friends/ family members we talked to after our experience last night, had very similar complaints. One said they hadn’t been back in...

Who doesn't need a good microbrew after taking his wife to museums and shopping? Lol

Found this little place and decided to give it a shot and found that it wasn't so little. The main room is a very large seating area, with a stage for live bands, a couple of pool tables, and a shuffleboard. They also have a few electronic gambling type machines. They also have two outside courtyards, one with the main stage and the other one with quite the seating area. I'm actually surprised that I haven't seen this place yet in my travels of Dalton.

They have probably 30 or so microbrewery beers and IPAs on tap, and they're at a reasonable price. I had this blood orange brew that was pretty freaking awesome.

They have the typical tavern fair, with a twist. It's actually good. I had a patty melt that was approximately a third of a pound of meat, cooked to my temperature request, and the wife had the steak quesadilla.

For appetizers we had the chips and queso. This was the first and most pleasant surprise. They use flour tortillas cut and fried fresh, the cheese queso is actually thick enough to stick to your chip and quite tasty. A lot of what they serve here is housemaid, and the flavors are very impactful.

As far as the sandwiches? They were both delightful. Our waitress Amber, was very attentive and very professional and full of information about the history of place. I do recommend this place highly, and it's not many places I give a fifth star to.

We called ahead and asked if they could take a party of roughly 30 people and they said yes. Unfortunately, they should have said no we don't have the staff. We were given one server who was overwhelmed even though she stated she did this every Sunday. Our group tried to show grace as we all understood we were a large group but after 2 hours and several of our group still not receiving food with no answer on when they may get there food, it became ridiculous. One couple was told by a server in a nasty tone that they still had to pay for their tea and coke simce they sipped on it while they waited those two hours.

Luckily my group did get our food and I was shocked when the 14 inch philly as stated on their menu was about 6-7 inches, truly nothing special. We also ordered two sets of wings, both with mild sauce. It was much to my surprise when there was a charge on our check for the sauce on the wings. NOT extra sauce or sauce on side, but literally the sauce they put on the wings. I have never seen that in my life, typically when you order wings, sauce is included in the price.

Obviously, we will not be back and I doubt any of the others...

Update: It'd been a few years since I visited, and we went back to the Tavern on this trip. The bar is still great, the food was tasty, the service was awesome. Can't wait to come visit again! Was in town visiting family and checked out this bar/restaurant I hadn't been too. Not much of a drinker, but had a big selection. I got a mixed drink the server recommended, it was tasty, she made the right call! I got chicken fingers with this awesome Thai sweet chili sauce. It was delicious. I even scanned the menu in my Pixel so I could look over the menu later and order take out. Got the bowl of chili and fried cheese triangles. Also very good. Nice atmosphere, it was very chill, watched some sports. Wish it had been warmer or I'd have tried the outdoor seating, looked like a nice space. Also a bummer I was only in town a few days, they had some events coming up that looked fun. I wound up eating there several times on this trip, a pleasant surprise close to where my folks live. 5 stars, would highly recommend.

Loved the vibe the place and decor gave off. Appreciated the ramp for my son's wheelchair. Inside it was seat yourself and hard to move around the tables, due to a section being closed off but the waitress was so attentive she quickly got up and helped make space for the wheelchair. Food was amazing! App was loaded waffle fries. Very cheesy!!! The chilli was a little too sweet for my liking BUT it tasted so fresh it didn't bother me one bit. I ordered a bacon, cheese burger with jalapeños...LOVED the fact that the jalapeños were grilled it was a very pleasant surprise! My son tried the BBQ Burger AMAZING and I'm not a bbq person. For our sides we ordered broccoli, it tasted a little past it's date. I think it's because most people order fries or other sides with their burgers. Did not try any of their drinks, but hopefully next time!! For dessert we had the ice cream brownie! Heaven on earth y'all!! It was perfectly plump, soft, warm, toasty and just right (said Goldie Locks).
