Los Cuates Taqueria — Restaurant in Daly City

10 years ago It used to be Jalisco? They had the absolute best carnitas nachos and grilled chicken. Huge strips of lean juicy pork. One order fed 2 people. Then it changed names and hands several times and they started to use cheese sauce from a can and told me how great their customer service was .. I never went back. People don't forget bad restaurant experiences. They also don't know when and if someone really great might take over. So they move on .. and go to Chevy's. LOL. Hey I love Chevy's. It's predictable.

I saw a familiar person who was working there now and I decided to go back and see how super their nachos were?

They were better than the last time/ owner and they were using real cheese! The chips and salsa were good and the price was fair. Not the best nachos I ever had but not too bad either. I cleaned my plate! I might try them again with a different meat or try a burrito.

I was eating from a taco truck since the last taqueria went down hill but now the truck is going downhill. There's smaller portions that are more expensive and not as good and parked in a semi safe location.

I'll be back to Los Cuates . Lots of parking and bright and clean seating area. I'd give them an extra half star if I could. That might...

The food is good- I do like their chicken, BUT one big thing to look out for. My dad ordered a carnitas burrito and they seriously pulled out a pork chop to cut it up. And asked what they were doing and they said you wanted carnitas. My dad said yes, carnitas. Now, if you know- you know that Carnitas and a pork chop are NOT the same thing. However, that's exactly what they said to my dad- its all from the same animal. What? Pork chops are a whole lot cheaper and therefore should charge less. It's a shady cheap move...

Not to my taste, but not exactly bad - I got the carne asada tacos. The meat was rather chewy and tough, onion tasted very raw, & they came with salsa on them that tasted like it could be store-bought. The tacos were nicely packaged for my to-go order and looked attractive. The service wasn't great though - when my partner asked for a particular soda the woman just said "no" and didn't offer an alternative. He got the carnitas burrito and said it had basically the same qualities...
