Panera Bread — Restaurant in Daly City

Don't go to the Daly City, CA location! Worst customer service on the planet! I ordered an iced coffee on my coffee subscription, and purchased a tea for my wife. The cashier had to get change from the back, because apparently they don't keep the cash register stocked with change for a $5 bill.

After I got my change, I went to the self-service coffee station to get the hot water for my wife's tea and found that the hot water was empty. I turned back to the counter, and the cashier was not there anymore. I called for assistance, and the employees I could see in the kitchen either couldn't hear me, or were purposefully ignoring the front counter. I then went to the self-service soda station, which had a window into the kitchen nearby, and attempted to ask the employees that were back there if they could help me with hot water or send someone to help.

The manager on duty, Roger Miranda, must have decided that standing next to the self-service soda station (a customer accessible area) and trying to ask the kitchen a simple question was not allowed, because he came over and rudely told me that I needed to get the hot water from the front coffee station. I tried telling him that the water was empty, and he said to ask the cashier. When I said that I came to this window because there was no one up front, he said the cashier is there now. The entire exchange, he acted as if I was trespassing, entering the kitchen and demanding water.

I returned to the front counter, and the cashier at the front was someone else besides the cashier that had originally helped. When I asked for hot water, they pointed to the self-service coffee station, and when I said the hot water was empty, they put their hands up and walked into the kitchen, with the air of someone who really doesn't want to do anything to help a customer.

I was still waiting with the empty cup when they came back with the manager. As I told him I just want some hot water, he said I didn't need to be rude, and that they are there to serve us (customers). I told him that he started being rude, and he wouldn't listen when I explained that the water was empty and I was just looking for someone to help me get hot water for tea.

He then threatened to call the cops on us if we didn't leave. I then demanded either my hot water or a refund.

No customer should ever be treated that way, and no one who thinks they can treat customers like that should be management.

Do yourself a favor, and never go to the Daly City, CA location of...

i usually get the food to-go which is always delicious. but one time me and my friends ate here for lunch and the costumer service was HORRIBLE. i got a water cup and the worker yelled at me before i even put my water in. she was saying something in spanish which i couldn’t understand but it was something about “putting other drinks” in the water cup. soo i was polite and asked how much the real drink cup was & she said $2. so i went and asked my friend how much & they didn’t charge her?? soo i went back to the cashier and ask why i got yelled at for putting water in the water cup... and the lady came and interrupted and said “ she was putting another drink in the water cup”. I know for a fact that I was about to put WATER in the cup. I told him why my friend didn’t get charged for it, and he didn’t care and just said “oops”. What’s crazy is that everyone has the water cup filled with a drink (not water) and when I get the water cup for water she yells at me... which makes no sense?? After I got my food, I saw her talking to the cashier holding the cup and mocking/laughing at me. I have no words other than that the staff are RUDE and have NO RESPECT. so if you ever go to this certain panera & see a short mexican lady make sure don’t put the WATER in...

This is not about this particular location, it is about useless rewards. I have no use for a breakfast sandwich. Somebody please tell me how to update my Food Preferences on my MyPanera account as explained in their response, I coundn't find any such setting. I have never ordered a breakfast item ("based on what you've bought in the past"). My inquiry to Panera was: Subject: Case reference 02020285 I got a reward and I appreciate it. However there is no way that I can make it to the store in Daly City - Gellert Blvd by 10:30 a.m. from downtown San Francisco. Is there any way to switch the reward to another item on your menu?
