Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in Dana Point

Door dashed banana royal last night. Any time I DoorDash they put the hot fudge on top of the ice cream in the same dish and everything melts. This time I called ahead to nicely ask them to pack the hot fudge and ice cream separately.

I had to call 3x over a 15 min period with no answer. A young woman finally answers and I explain before I press send for DoorDash. She then asks for my complete order. I said it will be sent via DoorDash. She doesn’t understand. I explain again “I’m about to hit send on a DoorDash order. Plz do not put hot fudge on top of icecream so it isn’t melted.” “Oh… so how many scoops?” There was nothing else I could say and just submitted the DoorDash in hopes the girl there would know how to make the items on the menu.

Hot fudge was in different cup but still on top of ice cream which melted of course. She also did 1 small tiny kids scoop. Banana royale is 2 regular scoops. She obviously did this because she wasn’t happy with our conversation. I got my money back from DoorDash and plan to reach out to corporate.

We have been a regular for years, not sure if the owner was working or an employee last name on Memorial Day, but customer service was at record low. We came in and barely got greeted. We saw they were busy and were being considerate and patient. After about 4-5 minutes of silent waiting he came up and we asked for a sample. Shortly after another customer came in and he switched over real quick to him and cut us off. We walked out and went to a different ice cream shop on PCH which was happy to help. This location is under new management! I went there today to pick up a cake that I ordered over the phone and was very pleased with the service and the cake. Even though I live 15 minutes away from this location and there are 2 other locations closer to me (San Clemente and SJC), those locations were not answering their phone. This Dana Point location did answer the phone, so they got my business. The store is clean and the staff is friendly. They were all wearing face masks, which I appreciated.
