Quaint & petite neighborhood park is super popular and situated on a busy street, but has access to Capistrano creek (which leads to the beach). It has a large play area for thr kiddos and a good sized park for the doggos. The lush mature trees provide some nice shading, creating an ambience.of tranquility and quietness considering it's parallel to a main drag. The parking lot is smallish making it a necessity to park on the street (good luck hauling the picnic needs from street parking). I'd suggest being strategic about what to bring. It does get crowded with the ebb & flow from people, so I'd recommend getting there early to stake out a nice shaded area. It's great for walking/strolling through, caution: don't think about riding an adult bike in the area since it's heavily used by pedestrians, kiddies on trikes, and pups on leash. For a city park, on a busy street, it's clean and it helps that the community users keep it that way. Remember to take your trash; pack in, pack out (in camping terms). The bathrooms are functional, when open. In a nutshell, this is a beautiful, diminutive, green space that is great for strolling, used heavily by locals of all ages and...
Read moreThe spot was great but the people we rented from could use some serious work. We're charged for a day that we didn't have access to the room, they failed to give us the code to retrieve the key when our rental officially started and we're not available to contact until late the next day. We Informed them a week ahead of time we would arrive fairly late in the evening and payed for our stay ahead of time.. you would think they would do what all other rental setups did and provide the code for the lock box the second our agreement said we were allowed to begin our stay, nope they require us to contact them to get the code but not until after our stay started and our phone had died that still had signal the other one still had battery but no signal, still had they provided the code the 5 hours earlier it would not have been an issue. Not fun to sleep in a jeep full of gear while it's...
Read moreGreat playground for all ages! There are several play structures that range from toddler size to big kid climbing walls. One set of baby swings by the little kid structure, and another set of "big kid" swings by the largest play structure. Big sandbox with little covered houses to play in, tons of climbing for all sizes and levels. There's plenty of shady benches and covered picnic areas to go around. And your kids can even see the train go by! It gets pretty busy on weekends. Bathrooms are okay - not the cleanest but better than most. CONS: the parking is the one huge drawback. The lot is super small and almost always full. There's a dog park and bike trails here, which are really great, but the parking lot doesn't accommodate that. Some street parking is available, but if you're lugging little kids like me, not your first choice lol. Go mid...
