Red Lobster — Restaurant in Danbury

Our server was AMAZING. He was extremely attentive to my husband and myself. He was prompt with bringing every single thing ordered out!! He was easily the best server I've ever had!! I don't remember his name unfortunately... My receipt says " Melillo!" On it... I haven't heard that as a name before, but if that's him I want him to receive proper credit!!!

We each ordered New England Clam Chowder as our starter... It was a bit bland.. However street sprinkling some salt and pepper on them we were happy!

Our food was cooked PERFECTLY. My 6oz Filet Mignon was incredibly juicy and cooked to perfection! (Medium) My side of green beans was perfectly cooked with zero crunch (I HATE when they're undercooked!) My other side was lobster mashed potatoes, that was a first for me... I LOVED them!!

My husband ordered the Seaside Shrimp Trio with the lobster mashed potatoes and quinoa rice... He refused to touch the rice... To be fair I did tell him he wasn't going to like it, but did he listen? Nope! He did his own thing and ended up with something he couldn't eat... I know if we go back he'd order it again and insist he liked it last time!! 😂😂

This restaurant was great... I've never been to a chain with this type of service! There was even a table diagonal from us who was friends with our server.... We wouldn't even have known had our server not thanked us for paying him such a wonderful compliment in front of one of his best friends... He did NOT stand at his friends table socializing... He made sure all of his chain customers were attended to!

"Endless Shrimp should read endless WAIT for the shrimp! Seriously- the length of time we had to wait between shrimp refills was just plain ridiculous. Our server, Jennifer, was wonderful, but even her great service and personality couldn't make up for a microscopic 7oz steak, or baby roasted potatoes that had quite obviously spent quite some time in the microwave after their salt soaking. The Shrimp Alfredo had what were possibly the smallest shrimp I've ever seen on a plate hidden here and there. At first I wasn't even sure there were shrimp there. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. I'm sure most of it began the day frozen before ending up as the fast food of seafood. The final insult of the evening came on the bill. The restaurant has the NERVE to suggest the amount to tip. Are you KIDDING Me? When did tipping become a requirement? When did tipping become mandatory? Waitstaff these days seem to think that if they show up at your table and toss you a plate or two now and then they are entitled to 15 or 20 percent of your bill. Not from THIS patron! Sorry! I'll tip as I see fit, according to my own personal scale, not by how much my meal cost. There's no more effort serving me a $0 sandwich than a $10 meal. Seriously! Went there for the all you can eat shrimp at 8:20 on a Tuesday night and it was empty and our order wasn’t taken until 8:30. We ended up walking out on both of our all you can eat meals because it was 9pm and we have yet to have our first order. Our bread was gone and no update from our server where our food was. If it took that long to cook our shrimp for the first round in an empty restaurant we couldn’t imagine how long our next orders would take being that you can only order one at a time after the first order. We weren’t very happy with our server at all, nor were we ever told what her name was. Before we walked out we looked for a manager or ANYONE to let them know that this was rediculous and we were leaving but there was no host, manager, server, or anyone around! Our check probably would’ve ended up being about $75 after ordering our meals and dessert with coffees. So with that said $100 was lost because of this and two very upset potential customers! There were plates and cups left from the previous orders left on the other tables around us. That I would’ve imagined should’ve been cleaned up while waiting for our food for over a half hour!
