Oh, Norwalk Connecticut....how have you kept the world's GREATEST Olive Garden a secret for so long? That I, who readers and critics of my reviews will note, as passionate a champion of the ideals of Olive Garden were not aware of this particular Olive Garden's charms is comical in a way that it must be providence as authored by Oscar Wilde himself! To properly contextualize this review, one must know both my history with places named Norwalk and my ill-fated romance with one Gertrude Beakerstein, whose existence I have only alluded to subtly in prior reviews. While working as an actuary for the firm of Ovis, Ovis, and Ovis, I came across a most unusual area code: 571 of Norwalk, Virginia. I had never in twenty two years as an actuary encountered a number that high. I quickly became obsessed with tje 571 area code and why it was such a high number. I would eventually be informed that it was a randomly assigned sequence but chose to disregard that as it seemed almost too simple an explanation. As Occam's Razor teaches us, Fake Friends do be like that sometimes. Unable to grasp how the number was assigned, I announced my resignation to the founding partner of the firm Bill Ovis, Ovis. I told Mr. Ovis, Ovis, of my new obsession amd he knowingly winked at me. Confused, I winked back. He explained that he was once taken by a sort of madness himself. He had met another person named David Ovis and became obsessed with the idea of starting an actuarial firm with him. He had no idea what an actuary did, but he knew that the chance to start a partnership and call it Ovis, Ovis and Ovis was too rare to pass up. Unclear on the meaning of what was just said, I walked about and prepared to tell my then girlfriend Gertrude Beakerstein, that I had encountered the highest number I had ever seen and was now questioning the basis of reality. She laughed and told me, 'Lets go to Olive Garden." We did and shortly thereafter we broke up as she had fallen ill with cancer and it made her imme sely undesirable to me. I did not need to eat at the Norwalk Connecticut to know it would bring a transcendent experience that would recall the msny moments of magic, light, and mirth, I enjoyed while a younger more foolish man. When I actually went to this Olive Garden though, the service was good even though the drinks sometimes had...
Read moreI'm usually a big fan of Olive Garden but this experience was so bad since I got here I invited my mom to eat this afternoon at OG Danbury Ct, the food was great but the service was horrendous the waitress Emily greeted us with a face as if our presence bothered her, she didn't even introduce herself, she just asked if we wanted to order now... the coffee we ordered was cold, so I kindly asked her if she could change it for hot coffee and she showed her anger, Later when I asked for a refill for the bread, she just threw things on the table in a very despotic way... The strange thing about it all is that Emily served the customers at the next table with an excellent attitude, apparently Emily was annoyed with serving us because we were Hispanic, since she served the American customers excellently... she never picked up the empty plates from our table, she did it until I put the plates together in a corner of the table. Finally, I asked Emily for boxes to take our food and I ordered some ravioli to go, and she didn't give us bags, she just put the boxes on the table, even the order that I asked for to go just left the box there without a bag, or anything which normally comes with take-out orders,( salad, bread sticks) but she gave the other customers bags and everything they asked for, she served them in a friendly way, and really made us feel as if she was giving us the food for free, or as if we are begging for food because we did not have money. I honestly don't understand why, being Hispanic, she has that attitude towards us, but that only shows her lack of education, and her ignorance in believing that Americans are more than Hispanics, I wish the managers of Olive Garden would be more careful with the staff and the Teach them to treat all customers equally, because here no one is more than anyone else and because our money is worth it too and we all...
Read moreI wished I could say I had a good experience but sadly overall not good. Some drinks on the menu not available. Salad delivered to the table and still waiting for our drinks. Had to ask for our drinks and wait more time for them. Meals delivered and both meals were incorrect. One was a totally different chicken dish than what was ordered and other pasta and sauce incorrect. How difficult is it to simply request penne instead of spaghetti and get it wrong. How is it when chicken marsalla is ordered with penne and sauce instead of spaghetti with alfredo sauce and chicken marguerita with broccoli and no pasta delivered. I told the waiter that it was the wrong meal that chicken marsalla was ordered with penne and marinara sauce and not chicken marguerita. He takes both meals back and returns with one now correct meal but again brings the chicken marguerita and not the chicken marsalla that we ordered but with pasta instead of the broccoli. So we just gave up and didn't want to send the meal back yet again for the correct meal as we had already waited so long and wanted to eat or meals together. The restaurant was not busy and we speak English clearly so I did not understand why we couldn't get the correct meal that we ordered. We are very patient people but it is not pleasant when we can't get what we ordered and have to settle for something completely different. We would have understood if we were told that what we ordered was unavailable but it was never mentioned. We just kept getting the totally different meal even after telling the waiter it was not what we ordered. So bring low expectations and lots of patience if you are thinking of dining here. We did not have a pleasant experience and paid a lot of money in...
