Just a quick overall before I break down my experience. The staff is poor, the decor funky and the food needs much improvement with a couple good dishes.
Let me start by saying, expect to wait. I arrived with my wife and was told a 55-70 minute wait and to recheck in 45 minutes. So we hit the mall and came back and were told a 15 minute wait. We hit LL Bean right next door and came back and were told in a couple minutes. 40 minutes later, 30 minutes after the original estimated time, we got a seat. While waiting, you could obviously notice dirty tables that could have been cleaned for patrons to be seated and a lazy staff just standing around.
We got to our seats and ordered our food, first a crispy crab wontons. It came out almost immediately and tasted wonderful. At this point I assumed that this was the turning point for our night. The portion was large, everything cooked right and a great dipping sauce. We picked at it a good while and then proceeded to wait about a half an hour for our main course to come out. They definitely could have timed the appetizer later so that the wait was broken up.
I ordered a rib-eye that comes with french fries and ordered a side of mushrooms. Now this is not an exaggeration at all, literally half the steak was fat. I understand that this cut of meat is supposed to be marbled but this was far from just marbled, I had to cut half of it off. My waiter dropped of my steak with my wife's order and told me my fries and mushrooms would be out shortly. A few moments later a different waiter dropped off a plate with my fries, mushrooms and a filet mignon on it. I sat there for a moment, waiting to waive down my waiter and tell him the extra steak came when the kid came back and took my fries, mushrooms and the extra steak away apologizing. Then a few moments after that and a few hand gestures ignored by my waiter, he showed back up with my fries and mushrooms.
My wife ordered the fish tacos, made with cod. They can be described with one word, dry. Just dry and hard to eat. We had to take them home and put salsa on them to actually eat them.
The cheesecake was amazing, we got the oreo dream. So in review, if you want amazing cheesecake and a good appetizer and don't mind waiting an hour and a half for a seat, this could be the place for you. I don't see myself getting anything from here but to go cheesecake...
Read moreLet me first begin saying that I really didn’t want to write this review. The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite chain restaurants period. However this location which we frequent often has been slipping over time. It appears that this location is likely understaffed. In the beginning when it opened the long waits were from huge crowds. Now an average night will have you waiting 40-60 minutes. As if that was bad enough the last few visits we waited almost an hour for a table for 2 adults and 3 children once we all placed are orders it was a solid 40-50 more minutes before the food came out. Worse was when I ordered a burger as medium it came out extremely well done with all the dipping sauces glazed over on the top as if they had been under warming lamps for the last twenty minutes. Then to have it remade was another solid 20 minutes. To make things worse my entire family finished their meals by the time i started mine. This has become hardly worth the time investment it is to visit this restaurant. Not to mention it isn’t cheap. Not super expensive but you expect a certain amount of service when you pay more. Again I really like this restaurant but I am seriously considering not making it a regular place for my family because of how much it has failed recently.
If I order food for a certain price a certain way I am paying for the food and the service. If the food arrives improperly simply remaking it only fixes the food part of the problem and not the service part as now I have to wait for an item to be remade usually at the mistake of the place serving said food or drink. What ever happened to a business making a mistake and owning it and then making it right. Simply remaking something only fulfills the original promise of delivering what was ordered in the first place and doesn’t address fixing the fact they have inconvenienced you. Remaking food properly the second time doesn’t fix the fact you already ruined someone’s family dinner. It doesn’t fix the service aspect of the mistake which is mostly what you pay for in food service. Comping someone a desert or even one drink is a start but nothing is an insult. I am sick and tired of going to restaurants paying for food to have it thrown together without care and then be expected to pay full price as if...
Read moreMy granddaughter and I came to the restaurant for dinner on Sunday, Feb 21, 2021, and was told we had to wait one hour and forty-five minutes. So we decided to order take out. While waiting for our order my granddaughter had to use the restroom. So I brought her to the bathroom and one of the stalls was out of tissue, so I went out to greeter area and informed the young lady and immediately she brought tissue and hand towels and restocked the bathroom. We both finished using the restroom and came back out to the restaurant and continued waiting for our food. My granddaughter and I sat down in the seat close to the cheesecake counter, when the guy standing in the greeting area loudly said Ms. You have to stand up! Now, when I first entered into the restaurant there were people sitting in the seating area before you enter the restaurant and an elderly lady sitting on the inside of the restaurant in the seating area closer to the greeters, yes, she had a cane and she was sitting down and what might have been her grandson or son was standing. So I asked the young man who thought it might same him some time to yell out from a distance in front of people that I could not sit down. Now, I understand the lady was elderly and truthfully, I had no problem standing but the tone in which he said it, was uncalled for and rude. I responded, by saying, is this something new, because there was someone sitting over there, “I’m pointing, “when I first entered into the restaurant, and he was not there. There was another young lady standing there. The whole situation could have went left, if I was the type to pursue the situation. First of all I am a Black woman and the woman who was sitting was Caucasian and elderly. Although I focused on the elderly part. I didn’t like the way in which I was addressed by the young man and it was my first time visiting the restaurant and...
