I have went back and forth on rather to leave a review or not, considering I use to be an employee makes this rather difficult. My family and I visit this restaurant quite frequently since it's one of our favorites, but the other day we decided to do carryout. My fiance had ordered the chicken and dumplings meal. It maybe had one small shred of chicken and the entire serving was maybe enough to feed our 4yr old son. I had ordered the sirloin with a salad. I ordered it medium well, but it some how managed to be burnt to a crisp on the outside and blood pouring from it on the inside... my salad was definitely not fresh; it was soggy and the lettuce was turning brown. Not to mention I didnt recieve any sauce or ranch for my meal. My son had pancakes with a side of bacon. The bacon looked as if it wasn't even cooked, it was so bad my son refused to eat it (which I didn't blame him). Also, we received a whole bag of butter for our corn muffins but didn't get any corn muffins. To say I'm disappointed with our service is an understatement. If we hadn't of been so pinched on time, I would have taken it all back. Having that experience makes me question to ever do carryout with them again. It was a very...

Have ate here many times, mostly good, but last few visits has been on the downhill side. Last 2 times my wifes food has been cold and part of mine as well. Last visit I had the turkey and dressing my wife had grilled trout with fried okra, THIS WAS ON THURSDAY WHEN TURKEY AND DRESSING IS THERE SPECIAL OF THE DAY... Overheard the waitress on another table tell the people there would be a 10 minute wait as they were out of dressing, our waitress never bothered to tell is anything. When they finally brought our food my wifes fish, okra and hashbrowns were all cold. my turkey and mashed potatoes and green beens were cold BUT my dressing was Hot. I guess they fixed all our food and let it sit in the back until the dressing was done. When our waitress brought our cold food she informed us they were out of Cornbread, it would be a few minutes wait. about the time we were finished eating she brought out some barely cooked corn bread. You would think that a restaurant that serves biscuits and Cornbread all day would always have it ready and that on their Specials of the day they would be sure and have it cooked and ready to go.... Wont be back here for a while Sorry food and service for a...

For the most part, we love Cracker Barrel. The breakfast is great. The pancakes melt in your mouth and the hash brown casserole is unbelievable! Other delishous dishes to try are the chicken fried steak, roast beef, and chicken tenders. There are so many good things to eat. I took one star away because we waited well over the designated wait time. We received a verbal notice and text saying it would be 30 min when we checked in with the host. We never received a text that our table was ready. When we asked the hostess (45 min later), they said they texted us and we were taken off the list because we didn't show up. I showed him the text and he confirmed my number. It happens, I guess. He did try to seat us very quickly, so that was nice. We were starving! I ate scrambled egg whites, turkey sausage, and grits. My husband had the Grandpa's Platter with pancakes. Yum! The final thing that made me take a Star was my silverware had dried food on it... which I saw AFTER I stirred my drink. Gross. Both issues weren't done purposfully, so I feel like 4 stars is still a great review. Hope this...

I picked up a Thanksgiving meal, and looked into the bag to see the plate and desert container standing on end, with all the food smashed to one side. I wasn't going to wait even longer to try and swap it, with all the people still awaiting their meals; so, I straightened it up and headed out. When I got home, I found the gravy had run out and pooled in the bottom of the bag, soaking the bag of rolls, and the cranberry relish was missing! I hadn't been to the restaurant in years, because my last visit, I ordered chicken and dumplings, to received a plate leveled in broth, with a few dumplings and no chicken! That used to be my favorite Cracker Barrel meal and turned out to be a huge disappointment! Regarding the chicken and dumpling incident, I was told by a former server, from this store, I shouldn't have gone so late to eat. I didn't know it was on me to determine when and when not to eat, if I expect decent service.

Placed an order online and when we went to pick it up they said they did not have the item. Had to pick a last minute replacement. The taste of the food and the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. We haven't ordered for a long time because of this, but decided to give them another try. Bad move. Still terrible. The baked potato was rotten. We did not get our condiments. The Coca-Cola cake was all icing. Seriously, there was no cake under the icing. The onion petals were all breading. Cracker Barrel - we gave you another chance. Another fail. This was at the Danville, Ky location.

They are not worth the money the food has no taste or flavor seems like the are cooking for people in a nursing home not the everyday person maybe they should rename the restaurant to the the cracker Senior center there food is high pried and the portion value is not there at all but people go there is it a restaurant or a store where people impulse shop. We go out to eat to have a meal not to be blasted in the face with over priced rockers and clothing and kids stuff
