My wife and i stopped for a quick bite, Given the name Guadalajara i thought that the food was going to be well..... better than most small Mex restaurants, upon reading most of the menu and asking a few questions.. which the waiter was very friendly and answered kindly but to make it short it was not a pleasant visit
I order the molcajete .$13.99 which had a tough chewy skirt steak, a couple of thin pieces of chicken, 6 frozen tasting shrimp, a very sad small piece of Mexican wannabe chorizo, a nopal, and a "fried" toreado jalapeño, and nopal BUT what killed it is the lack of panela cheese and better-tasting seasoning, every meat was overly salted and tasted very poorly, i also had a tamal which i sent back because they doused it with ground beed over it which in itself should be a sin to serve a tamal that way.
My wife had a coffee that tasted bitter According to her and the creamers that she was given were expired, her dish was the Camarones ala diabla ($14.25)which were the biggest posers of all, it was more like frozen bag shrimp over a tomato sauce with a no flavor red rice.
Over all i don't think i will...
Read moreThe service was very good, but I went for the food. I had a chile relleno and a beef tamale. I lived for 6 years in Phoenix, Arizona where all my neighbors were Hispanic and some would even feed my family, so I know good Mexican food. Having said that, I have to say that the chile relleno was too soft, even mushy. The tamale came without the corn husks. (OK. I can live with that.) I was surprised that it had real beef inside & not ground beef, like most places, but the amount of beef was skimpy, so I paid mostly for mass haring. Both if my choices were covered with a red sauce (I had no choice; menu specified that's the way it was cooked), which I didn't care for. It made my chile relleno even mushier & didn't enhance the taste of the tamale. I will not eat here again, since those are two of my favorite Mexican dishes and I almost always get a chile relleno when I eat...
Read moreMy wife and I are from Nashville and were visiting family for the day. As we were leaving, a craving for Mexican food hit real hard. Everyone in the family recommended Guadalajara’s. We pulled up with high hopes and they were exceeded.
I went inside and ordered takeout, I walked back out the car and mine was delicious but my wife realized that there was beef in hers (we are pescatarians) so she was picking the meat out, once I realized what she was doing I went in to order hers correctly. And the host would not let me pay for it. I insisted multiple times and made it very clear that is was 100% my fault, but he was not letting up. He brought it out to our car and handed it to us smiling ear to ear.
The food was incredible but the customer service is why we will be...
