Went to this restaurant for breakfast on a Monday, was unexpectedly busy inside, but, outside was okay due to the heaters. That is where the 1 star applies. Also, the hostess was friendly. Unfortunately, that is where the acceptable service ended. Once we finally ordered, it took a long time to get our food. Which we received as an incomplete order, since they “misunderstood” an addition to the order as a substitution, not a big deal. While waiting for that food though, I discovered that I didn’t care for the house-made crab cakes. They had a strong “fishy” odor and tasted of too much lemon. They were also cooked lightly brown instead of a traditional crispy outside. From my order of Crab Cakes Benedict, I was only able to eat the eggs and a bite or two of hash browns, as there were other things additionally unfavorable but too many to mention here. My friend was still waiting on the portion of his meal that should have been included when bringing our food to the table. As the food got cold and unappetizing, I eventually, went inside for the check because neither of us had an appetite anymore. I caught the server coming out and tried to explain the situation, that we were both very unhappy with the food. She apologized and stated that she would remove the inedible items from our bill, then asked if we needed any To-Go boxes. HELLO! Did you not hear and/or understand anything that I just said?!? To our added disappointment, just when I thought that the breakfast debacle had finally ended, the check came, and, again, our server asked us if we wanted any To-Go boxes. (SMH) Finally, looking at the bill was the final insult to our morning since our server hadn’t removed any of the wasted food from our bill, like she had offered 5 minutes earlier. Instead of trying to wait even longer for a discussion that wasn’t going to end well in our favor, as evidenced by everything so far during this situation, we simply paid the bill and left. There’s $40 wasted on food that we couldn’t eat, and, more importantly, that could have been contributed to something much more worthwhile. Like feeding 5 people well instead of 2 people inadequately. I’m sorry to say that this was a HORRIBLE dining experience, too awful to give them a second...

Upon arrival, check-in was easy breezy.. there was a wait which we expected. Once we were seated, our waiter, Vivian, was very scattered. We were ready to order as soon as we were seated due to the long wait but she had other plans. Vivian kept coming to our table saying she’d be right back. It ultimately took her 30 minutes or so to take our order. Our food took another 40 minutes to come. I ordered the vegan blueberry explosion waffles and the vegan tofu scramble. When I say these were the thickest, driest waffles I’ve ever had and I almost choked on them.. however the blueberry compote that was on top was pretty good.. 2 out of 10, I do not recommend.. and the scramble was beyond disappointing.. it was more like a tofu soup.. super chunky raw bell peppers, onions and mushroom with cubed tofu sitting in a bowl of broth… not sure what they were goin for.. 0 out of 10, I do not recommend. I definitely sent it back because what was it?! My friend ordered the regular waffles with a side of chicken.. she said her waffles were also dry and that her chicken was burned and they brought the piece of chicken out like 5 mins before they brought her waffle. All the food was cold mind you.. To make matters worse, even with the terrible food and terrible service we still tipped, although not graciously, because let’s face it, this was not a good experience… and on the way out the door I heard Vivian say, “los pinches” tip … and I knew what it meant.. I laughed it off to my friend like OMG!! I guess they are used to doing nothing and getting great tips. Vivian, your small tip was a result of your effort or lack there of. It sucks that you’ve been rewarded for this in the past giving you a false sense of confidence. Please step it up and try to humble yourself as no one is obligated to...
Read moreI can't comment on the food but glad I didn't order anything after the terrible non existence service my friends received.
My friend needed more time with the menu when the server came to take our order, I think the server might have came back once to check if we were ready but we weren't and needed more time. She never returned so we asked another server to take our order.
The worst part was my friend asked the server who took our order if he could check on our food and he came back out and didn't say a word to us. The original server also said she was going to check on our food but she never came back out either to give us an update.
The food finally arrived and was pipping hot. So either the kitchen was backed up (we sat outside and it wasn't at full capacity outdoors and I don't know if it was busy inside) or some malfunction with their tablet which didn't push the order to the kitchen. Either way, no apologies for the wait and this was a lengthy wait, I was beginning to think they forgot about us.
Most tables had condiment tray on their table but not ours and wasn't even offered any condiments.
No one came to offer refills on the water or asked how is everything, do you need syrup, hot sauce, etc.
The bill came on top of the take out container while other customers got a cup with their bill stating what form of payment is accepted, no AMEX while Visa, MasterCard, Discover and cash is accepted. My friends originally put their credit cards down but after waiting they decided to put cash down instead and leave. I'm glad they did because we would have probably waited another 30 minutes to be closed out.
Yeah, we didn't order right away and needed more time but that doesn't justify the non existence service...
