I wanted to try this place at least 4 times before reviewing. For a base line comparing to Tacos in Walnut Creek and Los Gallos in Concord. While I also enjoy Cielito across the street they are in a different league.
So... Los Panchos
Food.. Sub Par... The refried beans are probably the best thing on the menu. This time is a true test if the food has flavor and you are able to take it to go, it should still have a good taste. I understand things get cold but that should not limit things to much. To prove myself wrong I have taken it home and ate immediately after it was ready in the parking lot outside... it was just warm? There are no distractions with guests eating in so it’s amazing that the cant mess this up.
Experience...Par Really cool they now text you when the food is ready but that only works when you get the number correct. Witnessed 2 people have the wrong numbers when I arrived last. I feel bad for the hard workers there because the management clearly can’t deal under pressure. I didn’t feel welcome there and I saw a manager taking a not so friendly approach at others that were trying to be so hospitable to guests picking up. Maybe try to lead by example rather than ordering people around.
I really did give them a chance but round 1. Food was just basis and the salsas were nothing to make your day better. 2 Take home experience, meat was dry, how can it be dry when it’s in a steaming box? 3. Cold when ready, ya I’ll pass . 4. Seeing management really not care about others, sadly i bet the team is to scared to bring this up so I hope this helps the hard workers.
Please don’t waste your time responding to this post to be heard. I will come back in 3 months and see if you really care about these posts and that should be enough time to change something. Maybe start with loving your team.
Ok, so this was a special day. My nieces birthday. We chose this place because of the menu. We arrived and were greeted by 2 very wonderful hostesses. Sat out on the patio. The waitress came to the table, COUGHING A LOT, SNIFFLING, AND LOOKED HAGGARD/DIRTY. I am in remission from lung cancer. And seated outside, I didn't think I'd need a mask. Well, immediately after taking our order. I walked to the hostesses and asked for a waitress who wasn't visibly sick!! The "waitress " came to the table saying, "Who asked if I was sick?" I said I have cancer and can't get sick. She replied I was sick last week, but I'm not anymore..as she's coughing. NO COVERING HER MOUTH, SNIFFLING, AND LOOKED HAGGARD I wanted to leave immediately. Thank goodness that germ spreader only came to the table one more time. It wasn't busy it was like 4:45/5pm. She NEVER asked us if we wanted water refills or to go boxes. Or even how about a dessert! NOTHING NADA! I HAD TO GET UP AFTER WAITING 29 MIN FOR MY CHECK. SHE FINALLY CAME BACK EXTREMELY INDIGNANT TO HAND US A LITTLE receipt! SHE was RUDE and spreading her sick everywhere! Soo unfortunately because the food was fantastic! I tipped the hostesses because they basically took care of us almost 30% tip! Until that sick waitress is taught PROPER SERVICE, we and our family and friends will NOT be returning. So sad.. we really enjoyed the food. Despite her RUINING OUR FULL EXPERIENCE! I'M A BARTENDER 30YRS, MY NIECE IS A SERVER at a Michelin Star restaurant in the Petaluma area. We KNOW GOOD SERVICE!! And the 2 EXTRAORDINARY...
Read moreI’m giving two stars to be generous, it should be one star. I stopped by to get a bite. I mistakenly ordered my food to go. I paid 19$ plus a tip for a super burrito and an order of chips and salsa. I then decided I wanted to have a few drinks at the bar and enjoy my food instead of taking it home. I asked the front desk if they could actually make the order ‘for here’, they refused. The man at the counter said that they could not plate the food and that I had to take it to go, or eat it in the container it came in. I mentioned that I wanted to eat the food at the bar and order some drinks, thinking that me spending more money in the restaurant on drinks would help my case, and he still refused. As a customer who just spent 20$ on a mediocre burrito and an order of chips and salsa, to have an employee refuse to change the order from to go...I’m appalled. Terrible service. In all real seriousness, the amount of extra effort or courteousness involved in simply making the order, ‘for here’, is literally next to nothing. They could have AT LEAST offered to bring a plate to put the food on, nothing. Trash service. Should’ve gone elsewhere. The restaurant business is a customer service based job, you take care of your guests no matter what and you earn lifelong, happy customers. I have never in my life reviewed ANYTHING online, this service drove me to write...
