Jimador's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Danville

I wanted to give a full detailed experience with this restaurant from start to finish. Me and my fiancé had decided we wanted to try this restaurant . Walking into the restaurant the atmosphere is nice and welcoming , very clean and comfortable, someone did welcome us in and sat us down so that was a good start . Next our waiter came up to us and spoke but didn’t really get a name which is okay i guess , but after he asked if we were good he asked a rather weird off putting question “ petrol “ if you know what i mean . Anyways the salsa and chips were amazing we gave that a 9.5 very flavorful . Service wise - regarding looking at previous comments on waiting for your server , he definitely took a long time to actually take our order because he was laughing and talking with other workers that were near the drink station, all of 20 mins we were done with our chips before he could even come over . So we waited patiently, he finally comes and we get our food order taken . The food comes out and it’s hot but my fiancé ordered a fajita texano on a hot plate but it didn’t come out sizzling. So that wasn’t cool , her steak was over cooked and the vegetables were very thick , made the dish a lot . Over all score on food wise . Elotes - 9.4 A.C texano. - 9 veggies were too big on the plate Fajitas texano - 8 Service : 6 Overall i just didn’t feel like our server attended to us and asking us more than once a question that didn’t seem suitable for two people trying to eat . Also i think you guys should change your refried beans because they were very watery...

I place an order for what I thought would be authentic street tacos similar to the way it is pictured and received the most unappealing tacos I’ve ever seen. Wet unseasoned chicken topped with melted cheese & nothing else . The taco truck lonchera jr is far superior than jimadors. I did not receive the salsa or the cilantro I requested so I called to explain the issue . They proceed to argue me down bc they would rather lie and be right than to admit an honest mistake when it happens . I didn’t eat the food & go back to return it & wait 20 mins for service . Then I am told I cannot receive my refund . I explain I am going to be late for work & already didn’t get to eat before work due to the order being less than I had expected & asked for . After 10 mins of explaining why my order was incorrect & even having an employee back my claims I am granted a refund . The manager (I’m guessing) then continues to take as long as she could to intentionally make me late for work after making the remark of “don’t come back if you want a refund”. The food is mediocre at best & the staff is incompetent to say the very least. I will never return or refer other customers again for the way I was treated & for the less than satisfactory food. I do not recommend the street tacos … they are simple , plain & unpleasant at sight and taste. For $20 you can get 10 tacos that actually have flavor & presentation from lonchera juniors vs the 3 distasteful “tacos” I received from jimadors. I usually go here a few times a week for lunch. The food is good and the decor is neat. But after today I will not be going back. I ordered a fajita quesadilla, and for some reason, they did not prepare the quesadilla with the peppers and onions that are supposed to be INSIDE of the quesadilla, as listed in the menu. I asked the server that she bring me the vegetables that were supposed to be INSIDE of the quesadilla, which she did. But when the check came, they actually charged me extra for the vegetables (that were supposed to come with the meal according to the menu)! I asked the server to explain the charge to me. She said that since the vegetables were left off the first time that they had to charge me. She actually said "they forced me to charge you for the vegetables." I told her, with witnesses present, that I never asked for vegetables to be left off of my meal. It was the cooks at El Jimador that did not properly prepare my meal. Yet, I was again told by the server that she was forced to charge me for the vegetables. In summary, I was forced to pay for something that the cook's left off of my order. Something that is actually included with the meal. Sadly, I don't plan on ever returning to this place. They obviously don't have their act together and aren't familiar with properly fulfilling...
