Danville Starbucks customer service is lacking and let me tell you why. At about 8:56pm I began packing up my things because I knew that the store closes at 9pm. I was given a kind ten-minute warning by a young man at 8:50pm and while I was standing packing my things Dianna also let me know which door to use on my way out. All good at this point. Then, as I am packing up my belongings to leave, the lights in the seating area go completely dark at 8:59pm possible 9 on the dot. This is not non-essential lighting folks. I struggled to even see the rest of my belongings to put them in my bag in the dark. At 9: 02pm as I am walking out of the door, I stopped to mention that it was hard to find my things with the lights so dark and was told that there wasn't anything they could do because it is store policy to turn the lights of at 9pm. I asked, "Did you think it would make me pack up any faster because it made it more difficult to gather my things." The woman replied that it is in her "job description to turn the lights off at exactly 9" and that the store is now closed (It was 9:04 by this point). I said "Of course, I know that. Even now it's only 9:04 or 9:05. I'm just giving you my feedback." And I am the last person to try to keep someone from doing their job. The exchange ended with us wishing each other a good night. My point is that this is not good policy to leave folks in the dark, if it is even Starbucks policy at all to do so (hence my rating). But, I frequently work remotely at Starbucks and many other coffee shops in various cities for a change of environment, and I've never experienced a place going so dark at no more than a second past 9. A warning would be nice. And a quick internet search reveals that it may not be Starbucks policy after all and that individual stores do have some discretion in this. Also, try googling "What is the Starbuck's 10-minute rule." I am giving 2 starts for service instead of one because everyone else I spoke to when placing my order was really nice. For instance, I prefer decaf coffee and the cashier even offered to make me a decaf Americano or to brew a cup of decaf coffee for me if I planned to be in the store...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this Starbucks for quite a while, in large part due to the convenience of its location. I can say, unequivocally, I won’t be going back. It’s worth it to make the drive to Berea or Richmond rather than use this store. I’m not sure where the issue is, poor staffing, or low staffing, but their wait times are quite literally never shorter than 10 minutes, and often are closer to 30. It’s a gamble as to whether or not they will be sold out of their popular items—as they often are for the majority of the week. The staff is, with the exception of one employee, regularly rude to their customers. One snarky comment can be ignored and chalked up to stress, more than one becomes a problem. Particularly when the customer is asking politely for information or assistance. Just go across the street to Chic Fil A, or the Richmond or Berea store: they’ll treat you like family, serve you quickly, and never make you feel like a burden for daring to make a purchase at their...
Read moreI dropped my daughter at Kroger to shop then went to Starbucks. I decided to go in to order since the drive thru line was long ( our electricity had been out for 2 days by this time and I just wanted a simple coffee to enjoy). I ordered my pike place and paid then realized that the cream was behind the counter, told the clerk that I wanted cream and I didn't know it wasn't self serve any longer because I usually drive thru. This seemed to be a big deal for him.waited about 15 minutes for my coffee, went back to the counter and asked if I was close to getting my drink since my daughter was done at Kroger and I needed to pick her up. The girl found my order and stuck it to the wall, no explanation. When she bought me my coffee I said, "oh, I had wanted cream" she said "you didn't ask for it when you ordered, I explained. She then proceeded to dump my coffee out and get me coffee with cream. She didn't double cup the 2nd cup and it was very hot. I'll...
