This is our third time trying the food ! First two we dined in , and was great and this time we got it to go . Amazing .
The lady I spoke to on the phone and in person had great customer service skills , very kind.
First let me say , food is subjective and may be great to one and awful to another . It’s all preference. But there are basic concepts of “cooking” that restaurants should be able to execute !
We ordered 2 shrimp burritos con queso , chips and guacamole (came with salsa) , and chimi cheesecake .
Shrimp was grilled to perfection , literally not over or under, perfect . Also , the burritos had a very good amount of shrimp in them . And the cheese sauce is to die for . I recommend asking for extra ( mine definitely needed more but was an okay amount ) and the flavor from the grill gave it that extra flavor you are looking for ! I think it’s 18 per order .
Chips were homemade (I’d hope so lol) and the guacamole was also spot on! You get a 4 oz ramekin of salsa and guacamole. The meal comes with chips and salsa so we were just charged for guacamole which was 5 dollars . Salsa is on the runnier side and pretty basic in my opinion but it definitely had the “fresh” taste of the tomatoes ,but can’t really say it’s not canned tomato’s. I wasn’t a fan of their salsa , but it didn’t stop me from using it after the guacamole was finished .
Chimi cheesecake is a chimichanga stuff led with cheesecake and honey cinnamon and sugar on top and comes with 4 oz icecream. It was also amazing . I could have used some more honey on top , but other than that , it was fried perfectly and the cheesecake had a good flavor . I think this was 9 dollars
For all this and a 20 oz coke , it was 49 dollars . We were also charged a .75 cent “takeout fee” which I’m not really sure why, but if I had to guess would be since they are using a bag , napkins, and to go silverware. As a chef and a GM, we usually just add a wrap around price on everything and include that in the price but the pricing of the food is fair and the food is amazing , so I will pay an extra 75 cents for take out any day from here .
As a Pitmaster and managing partner, I travel for 4 months a year across the United States cooking BBQ at Ribfests and competitions for 10 years so you can imagine I have eaten at a ton of different restaurants and cuisines and for Mexican, this is in my top 3. And definitely the best in Danville. Keep up the great work , and I recommend this to everyone and anyone, and will be ordering again here...
Read morethis place was my weekend treat almost every weekend. i had great service while eating in, its when i started getting takeout that i ran into issues. it seemed to be something wrong with my order everytime. My ACP texano had no chicken, or my ACP didn’t come with cheese, or my mixed fajitas didn’t come with the wraps, or they forgot the cup of salsa. the past 4 or 5 times i found myself having to drive back across town just to argue with the manager who refuses to admit that he left out something implying that i’m lying… like sir, I did not waste gas and my time to “lie” over a cup of cheese, I just wanted fo sit my happy butt down and enjoy my meal. it was ALWAYS a main part of my meal missing despite me looking it over before leaving the restaurant. nobody wants a dry ACP..
having to fight with the manager over my missing items ( instead of admiring his wrong doing, he’d hint around and argue that you’re just trying to get over on him. ) and wasting my gas and time roughly the last five times, i’ve boycotted the place. It’s kinda sad because i use to rave about los tres and the good experiences i’ve had when eating in.
I now enjoy my weekend treat...
Read more2 words: food poisoning. This was without question the worst Mexican food that my boyfriend and I have ever had. We were traveling through the town, and were looking for your run of the mill Mexican spot to eat lunch. It looked like it fit the bill, but somehow the quality of everything was far worse than any other American-style Mexican food joint I've eaten in. I ordered the pork burrito lunch item. It tasted very off. I think it was overcooked to compensate for the age of the meat. I only ate a third of it (and I never turn away food). Lo and behold, that night I was nauseated and puking for 4 hours straight. My boyfriend ordered beef chimichangas. He said it tasted like stew, in both the quality of the meat and the seasoning. The beans were straight up gross. He later had digestive problems as well. We weren't rude, we didn't return the food, and we didn't tip poorly. But after the bad tasting food and the resulting food poisoning, I cannot recommend this...
