Lotus Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Danville

Have visited this place numerous times and today I walked in and asked if they have a different kind of lettuce other than iceberg lettuce which has no nutritional value and gives me stomach cramps and you can imagine what else. I asked if they had either mixed Greens or romaine and I was told romaine wasn’t in season. I actually started to laugh because Romaine is always available and if you’re going to comment, at least know what you’re talking about and if you list the variety of lettuce for the Avocado Salad as “Mixed Greens” know that does not mean iceberg lettuce.

I asked if I could go to Trader Joe’s and buy romaine or butter lettuce so I could order an avocado salad. The same guy that told me “romaine is out of season” said that wouldn’t do me any good.

They have made a good avocado salad a few times but it’s not always the same. if they would buy a different type of lettuce instead of the cheap head lettuce/iceberg variety it would be much better and match the description on the menu.

Delicious! Picked up a to go order for our picnic today. It was the first time we’ve ordered here. The spicy crispy basil chicken was so good! It had quality pieces of chicken breast (no gristle or chewy gross pieces) and a good amount of them. The medium spice was perfect. Not too spicy but not mild. The vegetables were great, too. The papaya salad was a good amount of green papaya and lots of peanuts. The dressing was plentiful and perfectly tangy and sweet. The tofu and veggie pad Thai had just the right amount of sauce. It was a perfect balance of peanut, sweet and salty. The chicken satay was also quality chicken breast with a perfect coconut marinade and a delicious peanut dipping sauce. We finished off the meal with the mango and sticky rice. Yummmm! The Thai iced tea needs to be stirred a bit, otherwise it starts out a bit too sweet. But I’d order it again. We split the dishes between three people, we had seconds, and we had enough for a few more meals late. We’ll absolutely be back...

To: Lijing Fan Thanks for your comment, I was one of the waitress that worked the same day you came, let me tell the public the story, just like you did to us. You went into other restaurants including ours, and complained about the food and minor things especially the service. You gave an excuse to not give us the full 10% tip, and you booked a seat for a total of 6 people including baby. You were unhappy when we brought you the bill, so we took out the tip included. Everywhere there’s a adjusted tip whether or not tip included. Our place is tiny, and we gave you half of the booth. You say that you ordered 5 dishes, and didn’t get one dish. We know we didn’t miss a dish because we write the orders down. We did everything we can to make you satisfied. I don’t get why you think every Asian restaurants try to make money this way. The way you look down on Asian when you are Asian seems like looking down...
