A friend recommended this place, and I was rather disappointed by the location and appearance, but our group was very hungry, and we were not going to change gears and try and find another place! Well, it ended up being a win! The five star reviews are on point! The garden rolls for appetizers were ample and beautifully done with perfection, fresh ingredients. We ordered three entrees to share among us. The Yum Mango Salad was excellent, and I wish I had ordered the full portion. The Prawns atop the salad were superb!~actually the Best I have had. The two other dishes ordered in the group were full portion and quite ample and delicious! One entree had the Prawns with amazing noodles, the other entree featured asparagus, a variety of meats, with green curry rice, all pleasantly spicy! The mango and sweet rice desert was very tasty! The shock of it all is that the entrees averaged 14$. How it is possible to have prices this low with such high quality foodstuff is bewildering! I quickly got over the utilitarian ambience and would definitely go back for the great tasting food! Super gracious, sweet waitstaff made for added great pleasure to our...
Read moreI was in the mood for Thai so I ordered 11th Tiger for delivery- first time I've tried them. I have a favorite Thai dish - Kua Gai (or as it's called in Thailand, Guay Tiew Kua Gai). Its a noodle dish very similar to Pad See Ew. It's a very common street food in Thailand, but difficult to find in the US especially the West Coast. And most places that do have it, it's not that good. So I was pleasantly surprised to find in on 11th Tiger's menu. I got it with chicken which is traditional (Gai actually means chicken, so ordering any other protein isn't really accurate) - and was not disappointed. This was delicious and now that I know they have it, I'll for sure be a regular customer. I also got Cashew Nut Chicken which is my other go-to Thai dish and this one was just about right. Lots of Thai places carry this, and I wouldn't say it's the best I've had. But definitely good enough to satisfy the craving when I get it. It was a little pricey over Doordash, so I'll try in person next time. If you like Thai noodles, I highly recommend the Kua Gai. IMO better than the more well...
Read moreAtmosphere: I sat near the end of the dining area (near the restroom). I could smell the smoke and the fumes from the kitchen, and had to open the window slightly to let the cold air in.
Service: I waited for 30min. Given there were other tables who waited longer, I should probably not complain too much...
Food: Oh man I have a lot to say about the food.
First of all, I saw they have Pad Kapow on their menu, and I went to this restaurant specifically for this dish. But the dish was very disappointing: there's not enough basil in it, not enough chili and garlic. And I was expecting minced meat, while they used sliced meat. It's a very simple dish that I sometimes cook at home, how can they mess it up so bad is beyond my understanding.
Second, I like spicy food, and ordered Fire Prawns because their menu said it's "Highly recommended for spicy lovers". In reality it was just butterfly cut prawn, with HEAVY breading fried then sauteed. It doesn't taste spicy at all! And the breading is way too heavy, about half of the dish was the breading.
So: disappointing, and won't...
