Our party of 3 was eating our dinner when a large party arrived and 3 tables were pushed together just a few feet from our booth to accommodate a number of adults, small children and an infant. As we tried to enjoy our dinner, the children in this party entertained themselves by running along the side of our table as we ate and the mother of the infant walked the infant around their table with a cloth on her arm, leaning over me as I ate, waiting for the infant to spit up. I could only hope it didn't spit up on me or my plate. The adults in the group made no effort to corral their children as they continued to get in the way of hard working servers who were trying to safely get it to the customers' tables with children underfoot, making for a dangerous situation. We have enjoyed dining at this restaurant for years. Our children are now grown but when they were small, they were not a disruption to other customers as we took the time to teach them manners and how to properly behave in public places so as not to disrupt other paying customers who were trying to enjoy their meal. We addressed the issue with the manager, but his response was that there was nothing he could or would do about the situation because many people today are rude and have no manners or respect for others. This is not the first time we have been unable to enjoy our meal at this restaurant, but it will be our last visit. Definitely a great place for families with unruly children where they have space to run and plenty of opportunities to keep other paying customers from simply enjoying their meal.
Should never have to ask for a refill...
Read moreI witnessed a costumer berating an employee bc she claimed he got her order wrong. The waiter was a Hispanic man short in stature and seemed friendly. She said she would never be back to the restaurant, asked for the employee's name and said that the worker should not argue with the costumer, and even wanted to speak to the manager etc. She seemed to make a bigger issue than the situation deemed necessary. The waiter was friendly with her throughout the whole ordeal, was not arguing with her as I witnessed but explaining that she ordered wrong. She was the only person making a complaint out of the other people seated with her and making a big show of it. I've eaten at El Rancho as well as many other restaurants and to witness this behavior of costumers against employees is sickening. This is not just this restaurant but many others like this. My advice for that pompous woman is that you should go home and cook your own meal if you are too ungrateful to even be given the opportunity to go without living being hungry, even if it is the wrong meal served to you at a restaurant. Stop being so damn soft and realize that many others have it so much worse for you...
Read moreI decided to come back here after 15+ years due to several photos I had seen lately on Google reviews. I ordered the Chili Con Carne Burrito with Cheese Quesadilla and beans. These are usually safe options that are hard to get wrong. Let's start with presentation. The food looked very appetizing when brought out. The burrito tasted good but the sauce tasted more like tomato sauce than chili sauce. That was hard to get past. The refried beans were ok but not really seasoned. The quesadilla was not good! The cheese had a weird taste that tells your brain you should not eat that. I have never had a bad quesadilla in my life. It's cheese and tortilla. How does that go wrong. Either way it will probably be another 15 years before I try here again. There are so many great Mexican restaurants in our area these days it is hard to keep going to these older places. I really wanted to like the food but it just missed the mark. My wife was disappointed on her meal also. She had an enchilada that she could not cut with a fork because the tortilla was tough. Her tamale was hard in spots like it was reheated in a microwave and got hard. Not...
