On February 17, 2024, at 11:45 AM, I visited the T.J. Maxx store in Daphne, AL to purchase baby shower gifts. As I approached the checkout counter, I was completely disregarded by the employee, who wouldn't even turn around to greet me. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. I had to wait for her manager to intervene and make her service me, which was embarrassing. The total amount of my purchase was $59.08. Two days later, on February 19, 2024, I visited the same T.J. Maxx location to return an item. I patiently waited in line like any other customer. However, one of the employees at the register deliberately waited for her coworkers to finish checking out other customers before attending to me. She was clearly avoiding servicing me at her register for reasons unknown to me. I am extremely disappointed by the way I was treated at this T.J. Maxx location. I have never experienced such poor service at any other T.J. Maxx store. The employees made me feel disregarded and uncomfortable. As a customer, I only wanted to spend money at the store, but I was treated like I was not wanted. Unfortunately, it seems that the employees at this location have a problem with customers of a different skin tone than theirs. This is unacceptable behavior, and I will not be returning to this T.J....
Read moreOverall my experience in the store was fine. The lady in the dressing room was friendly and excellent, however, when I went to check out I accidentally walked up to the register when the lady in front of me finished checking out out of habit before the girl pressed the button. Maliya gave her coworker a nasty look when I did so, the kind of look that say “is this girl serious”. She was unfriendly when checking me out. I also told her I needed to split the payment on 2 cards and she charged it all onto one card, which messed up my account that my bills come out of. She went on break/went to clock out as I was leaving so I assume the customer in front of me was supposed to be her last one, which if she had just told me that I would have happily waited. I’ve worked in retail for 7 years so I completely understand the frustration of a customer coming up to check out as you go to clock out but you still need to be...
Read moreMuch less of a review of the store and more of a review for an employee there. I didn’t catch her name (so sorry!!). Shopping alone can feel super awkward because I’m neurodivergent. This was a rare time I decided to pop in. I was at the perfumes just smelling all of them. She was clearly busy and working hard, but she took the time to ask me if I needed any help and everything. She really made me feel less like a lonely weirdo. Even though I never told her my name and I never got hers, I really appreciate her kindness and initiative. And I did actually buy this one! :) You never know how you can impact someone. And you just being you impacted me and I’m super grateful. Whatever your name may be, thank you!! Y’all are lucky to have someone like her on...
