Five Guys — Restaurant in Davenport

This review covers the Davenport franchise and not the chain as a whole Burgers: 3 🌟. Decent , with good options as far as toppings condiments. Fries,: 1 🌟. Undercooked and oversalted. Why would anyone want such a prodigious quantity of a poor product? Milk shakes: 0 🌟. Basically a goopy syrupy mess. Absolutely worst shake I've ever subjected myself to. Service: 1 star. Surly , rude and semi literate. Price: 1 🌟. Insanely overpriced given quality. Overall: 2 stars. This franchise is off to a rough start. It will cruise on reputation for a while. Eventually the corporation will regret opening a Davenport location. UPDATED: 7/17/22- Downgraded to 0 stars 🌟. Gave em another chance and they failed miserably. 20$ for cheeseburger small fries and coke. Fries were even worse than last time. They may as well just serve up raw potatoes. Employees were not quite as surly though.😔 Updated 5/ 5/23: as a public service I decided to try this place again. After taking out a personal loan I was able to purchase a small cheeseburger, small fries and small soft drink. Sadly the same experience as the past three episodes . 20+ dollars for an ok hamburger and abysmal french fries. Pretty sure the potatoes that birthed these fries were sprouting buds before their sacrifice. You can buy a bag of frozen fries and nuke them at home and you will have surpassed this franchise's ability to produce an edible potato product . Still a messy ,filthy location . It's almost becoming a challenge to see how far a location can sink before they are stripped of their franchise rights. A well earned -5⭐ Edit 11/14/23, while it's also vastly overpriced, their companion restaurant in Moline does seem to employ semi interested help, if you're into that service thing. Update 👊👊 7/7/25- out of curiosity I ordered Freddy's original double with fries and a Pepsi . Then went to 5 guys( thieves) and ordered the same thing (coke). Cost at Freddy's $10.11. Cost at 5 guys (thieves) $22.48 .Freddy's was vastly superior in the fry game and equal in the burger game. Why do people insist on letting these corporations...

I went on 9/3/2021 davenport, iowa, 30 dollar ticket - easily 12 + employees working, no one greeted me or anyone who entered from what I overheard then the cashier wasn't very personable when ordering.

Pricing for a small fry was over 4 dollars Cajun, large fry regular style over 6 and both were soggy not crispy at all for being so called fresh and the single patty burger was over 8 dollars w/bacon and shake was tiny for paying 5 dollars. The large drink was the only resonable price at 2.85 because I got to use the coke machine for different flavors of coke.

Then the wait for the food was quite long, the shake was basically melted by the time I got my food and others including myself were grumpy about the waiting and being swept around by the cleaner who was cleaning up a clean floor anf already clean tables basically wasting the timeclock.

When I got my food I expected the fries in a cup and a full bag- this was what I heard they were known for, nope 3/4 full cups of both the large fry and small fry and nothing in the bag. The burger was smashed in the tin foil and basically the same quality as wendys.

I should have just went to wendys and got 3 meals for that price and would have had better...

I LOVE 5 GUYS burgers and have been to over 10 of these restaurants all around the U.S. I was introduced to this burger joint 4 years ago in Peoria. I have traveled for work and pleasure. So believe me when I say if they have it there where I/we travel to thats what we are getting. Staff at this place was very friendly and hard working. They all were happy while working and thats how I want my food made. They just opened up so I am assuming they are all still learning. They were extremely busy as well so I understand if my order was one that they slipped on. My burger was not the same as its been everytime I have ordered it. Got the little bacon cheeseburger. Barely any bacon. What really got me and my fiance was the cajun fries we ordered. You guys are known for the overload of fries. EVERYTIME I have ordered a small I get a regular amount, ordered a regular fry we get large, and if we ordered large for the family we got extra large. EVERYTIME. This is the first time I have ordered a regular and received a regular. That was disappointing. I saw them dumping extra fries in other orders so I am assuming my order was missed.
