Yesterday 7/2 I went the location on Brady street. I normally patronize the location on 53rd. Never less I asked the Barista if they still offered the fruity pebbles because I really loved it and I know it was a special a few months back. She said they still offered it. Score. When she handed me both drinks I was confused and I told her this isn't how it was prepared before. Then I realized my mistake I meant the circus animal frappe (it's to die for). I tasted it and it wasn't my speed but my fiance was okay. So I told her that was my mistake and because I didn't care for the fruitiness could I just exchange it for something else. She went on to tell me that once a drink is made and it was my fault for ordering incorrectly, she would have to charge me for a new one. At this point I'm getting upset. A car is now behind me and she's debating with me. She had to have seen the confusion on my face and when she handed me the drink I immediately said this isn't what it looks like. I was nice and polite and informed her that I had been patronizing this establishment for years. She was very nonchalant and did not care. So then I had the other girl come over and wanted to speak to a manager. They only offered to give me the number to the store or told me I could go to the other location because they were having an event and I could find one there. They weren't necessarily rude. But extremely nonchalant and they could have cared less if I liked my drink or not. They kept repeating the same thing. "It's your fault you ordered it wrong, sorry. I make you a new one and you can pay for it". I can count on one hand in my 39 years of life bottom shelf customer service experiences and this was one. At this point I was so mad I indeed drove over to the other location and was greeted with a smile. I requested a manager and Amanda I believe came to assist. She heard what happened, apologized for my experience and offered to make new drinks with a smile. She also said that she valued our business. I went from being pissed to at ease. I didn't want them to loose a customer because I feel like this brand is my favorite. They need to retrain the ladies in customer service who worked 7/2 at Brady. Because I was truly baffled. I would hate for them to loose business because of those ladies. I'll stick to the 53rd location. Thanks again Amanda for making things right, valuing me as a customer and caring. I'll...
Read moreA friend and I went a step out of our way for coffee at the 53rd St location because of the great reviews while in Rock Island from Southern IL. It was my first time in Iowa, just to have coffee at a place said to be what we were looking for. To say the welcome wasn’t warm would be understated. It was obvious that we’d never been there before and had no idea what to expect. I’m not sure if the barista was having an off day or the dreary weather was getting to him, or if we missed something, but his attitude between the guest ahead of us and our turn shifted dramatically. I’d already gotten the sense of being in the way or taking too long to order in struggling to read the menu without standing too close (not that it should matter but I have a significant issue with double vision and focusing on print) based on his behavior so I defaulted to my standard dirty chai. My question about a larger cup size (again, I couldn’t clearly read the menu) was met with a sharpness that made me regret asking. I just saw the larger cups and asked out of a genuine desire for a bigger drink on the long ride home, not to annoy a barista on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We waited down at the end of the bar for our drinks and my friend’s exchange was similarly uncomfortable, though less hostile.

Read moreI wish that I could give this ZERO STARS! My wife and I came in from out of town. We were in the drive thru line and we got to the second car back. We noticed that there was a sign stating that the walk up window was open for our convenience. We decided to park and walk up to sit down and talk over coffee as a relaxing break from the kids. We were refused service at the window because it was for people that didn’t have a car and had to walk or ride a bike. I explained that I WAS in line but I wanted to sit down with my wife for coffee. The people that were in front of and behind us can verify it. They said we have a car so we need to use the drive thru. I said let’s start over…. I don’t have a car, can I order coffee. The employees said yes you can, in the drive thru and slammed the window on us. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I hope it goes out of business! Don’t have a sign to serve walk ups if you...
