My husband and I had been wanting to try this place for a several months now as we've passed by it, or been across the parking lot from it while at Steak and Shake, many times. We both love the versatility of the menus of family Diner restaurants, so this place, being one of those restaurants, appealed to us for sure! Now to start on a positive note here, their pie is Delicious! 😋👌🏽 My husby had the Strawberry Rhubarb pie and that was probably the best of that kind I've ever had! Yum! I had the Chocolate Silk pie and it was good for sure! Nothing out of the ordinary, or special about it, just average but good, for sure again. 😊👌🏽 Now my husband really enjoyed his breakfast dinner of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and pancakes, But, the serving sizes and pancakes were the Smallest of any restaurant we've ever been too.. He did Not get filled up so that sucked for sure. I got a bowl of chicken noodle soup with a Reuben Sandwich. The sandwich was super Delicious! One of the best I've ever had for sure! 👌🏽😋😍, the soup, not so much.. not really any flavor at all. The service was great though as our waitress was definitely as accommodating as she could be with showing us some things, as this was our first time there. Great service and atmosphere I can say for sure! 👌🏽😊 With the serving sizes so small though, I'm not sure if we'll be going back to this particular Diner, but I would recommend it to others, just with the clear caveat about the...
Read moreI think I'll start by saying that when you enter a restaurant you go with the best harmony and expect to be received with kindness and feel like you’re at home. But every time I arrive at this Village Inn.. location, Elmore Ave Davenport the lady who greets clients is so rude, so despotic, and the worst thing is that she only does it with me. I don't know if she is races at me because of my nationality, I don't know. The first day I arrived to buy I thought she was having a bad day but this is repeated every time I arrived and I could say not to return to this restaurant, but I am not the one with the problem when I have tried to be nice. I think she needs to take some customer service classes. Although I honestly don't think so because of her age, she should know that we have to be kind and respectful to the customer. She is the first person to receive the customers. She looks at me badly, or talks to me rude, weighs me down because of two pieces of pie, makes me wait more than 10 minutes, the restaurant is not full and she simply doesn't want to give me the order, she throws it on the counter and doesn't tell me if it's my order. I have to ask her. And she looks at me badly, I don't know what's going on with her. Could someone explain to me why she acts this way. I only ask that she treats me with respect and moderate herself if she...
Read more3 stars because the communication in the kitchen could be better. I'm a Dasher and had multiple orders. One was 2 shakes. When I first arrived I had to wait to get assistance. Then yall said the orders are being prepared, to me & 2 other Dashers. About 5 minutes later yall tell me that you're out of shakes but then you don't even update me on the other order. I have to ask again. So the one Dasher left because he unassigned the order he had for shakes after yall were "...out...". So I tried unassigning the order as well but the app wouldn't let me. The only time I can say I'm thankful the app didn't work, because in the same amount of time yall then come back and put an order of shakes out for the Dasher who left. Then yall find out from the people who made it that yall are making shakes still, so then you let us know too. I had already called the Dasher customer to confirm to cancel their order, but again the app didn't allow the cancelation so it was only verbal. Then yall put the shakes out for my order of shakes without a word of update, then yall communicate to us Dashers that there are indeed shakes. I understand restaurant mishaps and miscommunication, but we can only work as a team when there is constant communication. No one can read the other's minds. It's not just your job to make sure the customers get what they ordered....
