A disappointing experience. We were a prior repeat customer who purchased two recliners and a couch from them earlier last year. We most recently purchased a high end Tempur Pedic mattress and adjustable base. During the purchase, we asked if they would "price match" the offer that Furniture Row was offering, which was a $300 gift card with purchase. They agreed to match the offer, so we went ahead with purchase and delivery. Delivery was fairly smooth and went well. The gift card did not show up though during the delivery. Mind you they already had my money for the entire purchase price and delivery was scheduled one month after purchase. We call the store and inquire about the gift card. Our salesperson (Erica) said that the card will need to come from corporate, and that it should arrive in a week or two. A month passes by and still no gift card as promised. Called again and same story about it should be arriving from corporate soon. After another three weeks pass, and we call the manager who says they will look into it. Eventually the "gift card" shows up. It is a handwritten certificate mailed and written from the Davenport store itself. Not even from "corporate". So what were we waiting from corporate for when the store itself wrote out the gift card? Waiting almost three months for a gift card I was promised during purchase is not very acceptable. The gift certificate has an expiration date of one year. We go in to purchase a pillow that cost approximately $100. We wanted to hold onto the remaining $200 balance for later, but was told that due to the complex accounting issues that would involve, deducting only $100 from the balance wouldn't be possible. We either had to use the full $300 at once, or lose out on $200 if we purchased just the pillow. Apparently after spending so much money at the store (and being a repeat customer), the customer clearly does not come first because it would take up too much time on their end to process my gift card. Funny how the "owner" does not respond to negative reviews on Google. Erica was our salesperson and I cannot say she was on the ball when it came to our troubles since we had to call a manager to inquire about...
Read more(In response to owners reply) Your side of the story is completely inaccurate. This is Susan's husband Steve. I personally spoke with Brandi during every phone call. I informed her from the beginning about the cut in the sofa, which we noticed before even attempting to carry the sofa into the house. The plastic was still covering the sofa that your warehouse manager put over it and was completely undamaged as our picture will show you. This is how I know without a doubt that this cut existed before we came in contact with the sofa. The cut was also hidden behind manufacturer tag in a dimly lit warehouse where anybody could have missed it. And the straight clean cut was more likely due to an employee cutting open box or plastic, not from a door frame like salesman is trying to get out of taking responsibility for. She only accused us of damaging it ourselves after we informed her about writing this to Better business bureau. The rude attitude from your sales associate paired with her unwillingness to work with us at all was completely uncalled for. We informed her of everything immediately and are being treated with terrible disrespect where I never expected it to come from such a reputable company in the past. We will be continuing our complaint as a claim to the BBB from here and disputing it all the way. This review is mainly to inform others about La-Z-Boys bad business practices and advise you to read all of the other bad reviews with similar complaints. (END REPLY) Terrible experience! Defective furniture and not willing to help with anything to our satisfaction. Refused to replace or return. Rude, unprofessional, unreasonable, and dishonest. Won't even honor their warranty or cancellation of it.. Sales person, Brandi, and manager put the blame on us for a defect we found the minute we got it home. Left us no choice but to take it to court now. Want nothing to do with this place. Doesn't deserve even 1 star but no choice with...
Read moreOur sales associate, Mimi, was WONDERFUL! I had bought another Lazy Boy recliner about a year ago. In the store if felt great but when I got mine home ( after a 6 week wait for it to come in) it felt totally different and was not at all comfortable for me so I contacted our salesman and I returned it. I went to another LazyBoy gallery and after sitting in many more chairs and finding one that felt great ( and I sat in it for about 15 minutes) I thought I had found the one. The sale at the time was not one that was advantageous to me so we waited a while. I ended up ordering that chair ( it was a special order) and waited another 6 weeks to get it. When it came home with us once again, a completely different feeling chair. This one I can't even touch the floor with but since it was a special order they would charge me a $400 restocking fee and I paid $1500 for the chair so I didn't want to be out that money to restock it. I have tried to deal with it for over a year now. I have back problems and am hardly ever able to sit in the chair. This is the reason for me seeking out another chair. I've had good luck with LaZ Boy before so I kept trying. The one I chose yesterday is a much different chair than what I chose before. We took home the chair that was on the floor because that's the one I sat in for over a half an hour and was still comfortable in.
Mimi was so great in listening to my previous problems, suggestions different chairs, following me through the store to help me and then sitting with me and checking on me during my little "siesta" while sitting in the chair. She was a great help. Everyone at the store was very courteous. Our experience there yesterday was a very pleasurable one.
I'm hoping this chair is more comfortable than the other...
