My family and I ate here as part of the Thanksgiving day special menu . There were four of us total and all four of us were honestly pretty disappointed. We all left feeling like we did not get what we were paying for.
The menu was 55 dollars a head not including drinks. The first course was probably the best course as all 4 of us enjoyed our apps. The lobster Mac was delicious, the salads fresh and the fried asparagus was cooked just right with just the right amount of Crispy breading and crunch in the asparagus
The mains came out shortly thereafter. We thought they came out too quick honestly and it showed big time. The turkey and ham were both incredibly dry, the gravy tasted canned, and the veggies were overcooked. When I say too fast, I mean about 5 to 10 minutes after our apps arrived and maybe only 15 to 20 minutes max after we ordered all our food. It honestly seemed to me, and this is just me speculating, that a large portion of the food was precooked and was left somewhere to keep warm and s a result much of it dried out in the process. The crab cakes were decent vut honestly should have had more crab than they did. Tasted more filler than actual crab meat. The salmon was the best of the group as it looked fresh and was a decent size. That was probably what I should have ordered.
The desserts were hit and miss. The apple pie was a miss. The crust was way too soft and chewy. The cheesecake and the peanut butter cake were solid if a little small.
Overall the service was attentive and solid. No complaints on the waitstaff whatsoever. The whole dining experience from when we sat down to when we left was under an hour, but we did not feel rushed by the wait staff. Rather it was how quick the food came, and as I speculated above, may have worked against it.
This place used to do a Thanksgiving buffet, and this was a far cry from that. They used to do a mac and cheese station that was delicious and cooked right in front of you, and meat carving stations that would be fresh and delicious with plenty of sides for everyone. I know the pandemic probably nuked this but but I expected so much more than what we got. I only really go here once or twice a year, and I do not think next year we will be doing this again. Our bill was around $300 with drinks and tip, and it felt like quality wise it was nowhere near that.
Thank you for reading all this.I wrote this long review not to attack this place but because i remember what it used to be like. Thanksgiving here used to be something I looked forward to but not anymore. I can only hope this place returns to...
Read moreVery disappointed after reading so many great reviews. We were seated inside which had zero ambiance. Restaurant was fully staffed, many wait staff, food runners etc. Our server was pleasant but we had long wait times for drinks on both occasions (one drink order when we arrived and a 2nd order when entrees were delivered). We ordered the mango bango shrimp appetizer which was very good. The server removed the appetizer serving plate but not our side plates and utensils before the entrees were delivered. A server should always remove all dirty dishes and glassware from the table. This is service 101. There were many servers/food runners milling around who also could have removed the dishes but it was evident attention to detail isn’t a priority for the staff. When the entrees were delivered a server placed both entrees on the table without a word and walked away. A few minutes later our server came by to check on us. I order a glass of wine which took 10 minutes to arrive. After dinner, the server left menus for us to review the dessert selections which we declined. She brought the check promptly afterwards. The photo shows everything on our table as we left, appetizer plates, dinner plates, menus, empty wine glass 1 and 2. I expect more from a dinner service. It’s not hard to remove used plates and glasses, in fact it is an important part of the job for any restaurant employee.
Dinner entrees were okay certainly nothing to rave about. Crab cakes were oddly creamy, I’m not sure how you remove all texture from crab meat…it was as if the crab meat had been beat it in a mixer. Certainly cannot call them lump crab cakes. The pork chop was cooked nicely but the sauce had a strange bitter aftertaste. I would not recommend North Harbor Club for anything more than drinks/appetizers with a lake view. Very casual atmosphere and...
Read moreThe NH Restaurant had the look of a nice restaurant and bar. We came on a weekday at about 3 pm. for drinks and appetizers. Due to the heat, we sat inside.
We (a group of seven adults) were seated immediately. There were several tables around us with dirty dishes and glasses and no patrons. We were the only people in the restaurant. Outside, two tables were seated. A single woman with a dog and a couple with a dog at another table
I went into the women's restroom, and three employees were in there having a conversation. I went into a stall that was missing toilet paper and wasn't very clean. The next one was cleaner and had TP. The sink was soaking wet, and the trash was overflowing. Exiting the restroom, I mentioned the condition of the middle stall and no TP to the employees.
The menu looked promising and had a nice variety of appetizers and main course dishes. We ordered four appetizers and drinks.. The Asparagus Fries were delicious! The other three were ok. The drinks, ok.
Unfortunately, once our drinks and food arrived, we had to go to battle with the flies.
Our server was nice. Basically, did her job. Took our order, brought our drinks and food, checked if we needed anything else, and brought the check. The End.
Just before we were leaving, I went to the restroom. It had not been cleaned, and the toilet paper had not been replaced. The tables that surrounded us were still littered with dirty dishes, glasses, napkins, and flies. (We were in NH restaurant for an hour and a half +)
*Eddie's, Apps and Taps, and The Blue Parrot were on it!!! The food was good and the service was great! As we finished a dish or drink, it was removed. We were checked on, offered food and drink, and even brought extra chips to go with the remaining dips. The tables were clean. The restrooms...
