I always get the feeling of being judged and being served by the snobbiest of people, both managers, the man and woman, are both unprofessional and make assumptions about people with very little info. As someone who has done service her whole life and was part of a catering/restaurant business featured in magazine and known all over the country, I know how management should act. And you could just tell that the young man manager had no experience dealing with all kinds of people, and the woman manager was so snobby that talking to her was like talking to a wall, I worked one day there and after 8 hours of working asked if I could take a break and hit my vape for a couple minutes in my car, and she looked at me like I was the biggest trash on earth, and said we don’t allow smoking here at all! I understand on property but telling someone they cannot vape off property in their car parked over 300 ft away is ridiculous. She finished the mean comment with her horrible attitude saying and we don’t do breaks although she was breaking all day! I kindly responded that was fine, I was totally able to get through a day of work without, but was a little surprised that I was treated that way. Ever since finding out about heart issues i have been weening off smoking and using a vape to go down on nicotine to avoid withdrawals, something my DR is well aware of and clears me of. Both managers were also are very bias and don’t respect individuality. They expect their employees to work a 10 hour shift, no break at all, and be white, young, and cute, very stereotypical…. And as someone with heart issues and lots of appointments to catch up on that month I had phone calls coming in I couldn’t miss, I told them this when hired and reminded her that day, and after watching the rest of the staff on their phones and checking their devices, especially the lady manager who literally hung out leaning on boxes playing with her phone the whole shift occasionally walking around, but not once did I see her visit a table or check on any customers! Or pick up a dish for that matter the only thing she ever picked up was her cell phone. The rush was over it was past 4 pm and everyone was literally doing nothing. As lady manager joked around with staff she liked while surprise surprise on her phone, my phone started to vibrate and I noticed it was the DR office I waited months to get into calling to schedule my apt and make some other plans with me on my scheduled duties and appts before my heart surgery. So I asked her if I could run outside and take the call real quick and did just that at around 4:30p (9.30hrs of working non stop), after first arriving there at 7am. I walked all the way around the shopping complex and hit my vape a couple times while I took the call, I was back in within 7 minutes. I busted my butt all day and was actively learning the expo while running food to a point where I was red in the face and hot. I provided extra customer service to tables and was told twice that day about my exceptional service. I had the menu half memorized and knew how to expo half the menu and to go orders. Around 2 pm the young guy manager shows up and literally just walks around joking with all the guys in there as he was just a regular staff member with them. It so long ago, according to my trainer on expo he was offered manager position first and turned it down so that gave it to the other guy instead. I see why he was second choice: the expo guy was may more professional and knowledgeable than either of the current managers and if I was him wouldn’t have wanted to be a part of that management team either! After I returned from taking my phone call both managers were sitting and talking and then looked right at me, now I knew they were talking about me. I finished my shift and went home at 5. Around 9pm I got a text from the guy manager saying not to come in next day I wasn’t a good fit for their style and kind of people. I wouldn’t have received any answer at all I had to beg him over 3 messages to ask what I did wrong....
Read moreI am tired of the disrespectful way delivery drivers are treated, and am giving restaurants 3 strikes before I stop picking up from them permanently. Milkbread - aside from having overpriced food that doesn’t taste any better than Chick-Fil-A (yes, I have eaten from there also); has tremendously overextended workers, doing the job of 4 people each. I do not blame the employees at all. You can tell within minutes that this restaurant is completely mismanaged.
Doordash should definitely punish restaurants that consistently fail to meet the timeframes that the RESTAURANT ESTIMATED. I’m thinking if you miss your estimate 10 times, DD should shut off your ability to make deliveries for 1 day, and progress to multiple day suspensions until you get your act together. Watch how FAST they’d correct their issues then.
Instead, drivers are punished both by having to stand in the way of coffee dispensers, and having to receive poor reviews (like this one) from customers who have no idea that the restaurant has no urgency whatsoever. It’s embarrassing for them, and it is that way every single time I’ve come here. It is the most awkward experience coming here out of every restaurant in the entire city of Davidson, so I guess they can be proud of being #1 at that.
Wait times will continue to grow as other drivers opt out of coming here. You can help by NOT ORDERING FROM HERE.
Bring back Char-Grill, I beg of you. They knew how to run a tight-ship, and cared about...
Read moreI order the Heirloom BLT whenever it is in season because I loved it so much when Kindred used to serve lunch. I’ve been consistently disappointed with Milkbread’s version of the same sandwich. It advertises Crispy Bacon as one of the ingredients but this is far from what you get on your $16 sandwich. Ordered it to go and was disappointed with the barely cooked bacon. I understand that you are at the mercy of the restaurant when you order takeout because they know once you get it home there is very little you can do about it. The next day I decided to order at the counter and requested extra crispy bacon. I was told that I couldn’t request anything to be cooked to my liking because the bacon is made in batches and you get the bacon however it is made. When asked why I couldn’t request the bacon to be cooked the way I like it I was told that it would slow down production. But I was told if I didn’t like the sandwich the way it came out they would refund my money. Fast forward to receiving the $16 dollar sandwich with under cooked bacon. Sandwich is brought to the manager who says it’s not a problem to get extra crispy bacon as long as you talk to the manager. The second sandwich was delicious. But the question remains, why do I have to speak with a manager to get my sandwich prepared the way I want it? Something isn’t...
