This is the nicest extended stay hotel I have been stayed in to date. I will look for this brand when travelling for work and pleasure in the future. All the staff I experienced were polite and helpful. The hotel is not brand new but is very nicely up kept. I ate breakfast and dinner in-house most days thanks to the kitchen staff. There was a decent variety of served food and a menu is provided in your room so you can plan meals accordingly. You have the ability to dine in or carry out for the meals they provide and beer and wine are also free each evening. There was a full refrigerator in the room I stayed in and a newer grocery store (Harris Teeter) with easy walking distance so I stocked up on milk and fruit and a few other necessities early in the week. If you choose to eat out, there are 4 places (that I've found this week) that are easy walking distance. Sabi and Subway are directly across the street from the hotel. Just a little bit farther away but still easy walking distance are Char-Grill (a burger and chicken place which I did not try) and Ming's Bistro which I would highly recommend. (I reviewed the restaurants that I visited separately as well.) If you are coming to this hotel on business and you have loved ones (or coworkers for that matter :) that you have promised souvenirs to, you need to either pick gifts up at the airport or rent a car. I did not rent a car and stayed at this hotel with no problem what so ever EXCEPT for the souvenir issue. There is literally no place less than a 40 min roundtrip walk that has anything to purchase that isn't food. A minor problem for sure, and certainly not anything to reflect poorly on the hotel- but I did feel it was worth mentioning. Otherwise, the hotel suggested a transportation from the Charlotte airport to the hotel and everything was walking distance from the hotel from that point, no car needed. I stayed on the 4th floor, not on the street side. My room was very quiet. I used the gym several times and it was very nice with newer machines and fresh towels available. I did not use the pool but it looked clean and sat in a glassed in room that was reminiscent of a patio with tables and chairs. All in all, I felt it was an excellent bargain for the money and I would stay here again any time I was in the area. (Also, anytime I see pictures posted by the owner or management, I am extremely wary that maybe they were taken when the property was first opened or taken professionally with staged lighting for advertisement purposes. I took pictures with the intent to post them and it is totally unnecessary. The beautiful pics you see posted are accurate to what I experienced while...
Read moreI was here until 9/11/23- First off, if you're staying here, they're still renovating the 4th and 5th floors. So if you book a room here, ask for one of the recently renovated rooms on floors 1-3. I was in room 319, which had not 1 but 2 balconies. 1 in the living room and 1 for the bedroom. Pros - the rooms are as nice as any Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn that you may stay at. The kitchen has a full fridge, microwave, (2) 6" burner stove cooktop, dishwasher(you need to bring your own detergent to use) sink, dishes, minimal cooking utensils, silverware, and glassware. The breakfast was what you'd typically find at any Hampton Inn and just as good. They have guest laundry that you'd need a mix of quarter's and tokens to use. You need to supply your own detergent/fabric softener. The machines are $1.00 a cycle, and you can get change/tokens at the front desk. Front desk clerks were friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. The bar area and entrance lobby were clean and presentable, and the bar is fully stocked. Parking was free, and there were always open spaces. Side note about the kitchen in my room: You may want to bring a cutting board, an extra kitchen knife, a frying pan, cooking utensils, and a dish drying rack as the room doesn't have these.
Cons- The only really bad thing I can say is that the housekeeping was subpar. They knock on your door, and they only offer free snacks. Now, they're only supposed to clean your room upon request, which I did twice. And not 1 time did they come and clean my room. I'll be honest and say they did come the 1st time, but all they did was empty trash, make the bed, and swap towels. But they didn't wipe down counters/sinks, vacuum or mop floors, or anything else. This I was not used to with a Hilton hotel. Hopefully, they can get this straightened out
In closing, it was a very nice extended stay place, considering most are dives. I would highly recommend this place. The housekeeping was the reason for my...
Read moreIf you're looking for a hotel that’s convenient, comfortable, and located in a charming area, Homewood Suites Davidson is a solid choice. I picked this spot mainly for its proximity to where I needed to be, and it definitely delivered on that front. The location is fantastic—Davidson itself is a delightful town, with plenty of shops within walking distance. Plus, downtown Davidson is just a few minutes by car, making it super easy to explore.
One of the things I loved most was how the hotel feels a little more secluded than you'd expect, despite being right off the exit. There's no annoying highway noise or congestion, which really adds to the overall calm and peaceful atmosphere. It feels like you’re tucked away in a quieter area, which was a pleasant surprise. Plus, parking is a breeze—there’s plenty of space and it's well-lit at night, so you always feel secure.
The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and the rooms are no exception. My room was tidy and cozy, and housekeeping kept it in top shape during my stay. But, honestly, the front desk staff is what truly made this experience stand out. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I’ve got to give a special shout-out to Maggie and Shyvonne, who went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and taken care of throughout my stay. It's rare to see such a consistently positive vibe from hotel staff!
If I had to nitpick, the only thing I’d wish for is a bit more variety in the breakfast options. It's a minor complaint in the grand scheme of things, but a little more diversity in the morning spread would have been nice.
All in all, this was a great stay, and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a well-located, friendly, and relaxing...
