I can honestly say that I will never eat at this restaurant ever again. It is not because of the food, it is because of the management. Juan, one of the managers, is the sole reason why I will never come back to this place ever again. I do not normally leave reviews but I felt absolutely compelled to say something. This incident happened on March 25th, 2021 at around 8:30pm. There were not that many people inside but I could tell that they were busy because all of the employees were frantically moving about. When I use to eat there, I would order about 5 or 6 tacos. The first tacos that I ordered were the fish and the shrimp tacos. When you order either one of those tacos, not only is there an extra cost, but they are made to order. Meaning the employees have to take extra time before serving them to customers because they have to cook them on the flat top first. This was totally my fault but halfway through the cooking process, I realized that the fish taco was Tilapia and I do not eat that kind of fish so I apologized and asked Juan not to continue making the fish taco. Again, totally my fault but mistakes like that happen all of the time. He removed the fish and went back to finish my shrimp taco. When he came back, there were 3 measely shrimps that I could not justify paying extra money for so I asked him if I could either have more or cancel that order as well. His response to me was, "It seems like you are playing with us." What kind of response is that? I am aware that I made a mistake, but the next time I would have came in, I would know never to order the fish or shrimp tacos. I learn from my mistakes, but when the manager of an establishment has no class and is being confrontational instead of just trying to solve my problem, there is no way that I am going to give away my hard earned money to a place like that just so he can talk to more customers in such a rude manner. I really use to enjoy going here, but because of the lack of professionalism that Juan failed to display, I will never again set foot inside this...
Read moreTACO PUPPIES!!!!! BEST TACOS EVER!!! Great prices too... in fact, I think they should charge much more. Seriously folks, this is the real deal. I have spoken to the two brothers :) themselves and heard the authentic stories which define the essence of their humble beginnings. These recipes they say have been passed down generations and were composed of the exact ingredients they grew up eating themselves. When you do visit watch them make your food. You see and taste the love and passion they take in folding every single burrito perfectly.
The nickname "Taco Puppies" was first used when I was driving east on 595 one evening and there it was... I didn't have to think anything up... There were 2 big, brightly lit signs one reading 'Tacos' and the other 'Puppies'. The truth is they are 2 separate stores with the one saying "Tacos" belonging to Agave Azul and the "Puppies" belonging to the pet store next door.
I have never had a corn tortilla "con todos" or even knew what that meant a year ago but know I do know that the burrito here is the only thing that could ever get between my wife and I.
No sour cream? What did you say... Goat milk?? WHATEVER! GIMMIE MORE!!!
My favorite is the steak taco on a corn tortilla with everything on it. The ingredients are all homemade and full of mouth watering authentic Mexican flavor. If I were a millionaire and had the money to do so I would give them everything I could to open more stores across the nation. After that I would shown them what a real taco "con todos" is all about and open one on every...
Read moreThis taco bar is located directly off State Road 84 and I595 in a strip shopping center. It has been around for quite a while, and I have wanted to try it as Mexican is my favorite food hands down. I ordered three of the signature tacos a campechana, a gringa, and a pirata. These are very much like the best authentic street tacos with carne asada, cheese and fresh avocado. The handcrafted tortillas were heated in front of me, and they added melted cheese to the corn tortilla making like a tortilla sandwich with melted cheese between the layers. I chose from a variety of toppings to dress my tacos- lettuce, tomatoes, crema, jalapeños, onions, more cheese, lime, etc and added one of the three salsas- mild, medium and hot. The mild and medium are perfect examples of salsa verde- flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The hot salsa has a bite, but it is not too bad.
When I finished the tacos, I also ordered the Sopes Del Jefe, which are handcrafted corn cakes with toppings. These come with chicharron and salsa verde, refried beans, cilantro, crema, and queso fresco. These were so great!. The sopa is such a good combination of salty and sweet. It goes so well with the chicharron. I will go back for these specifically. I also want to try their Elote en Vaso.
Finally, I had some hibiscus tea- which you can’t find anywhere and it was quite satisfying. They also have two other Aqua frescas- horchata and tamarindo and an assortment of Mexican beer and soda. The ambience is fine, not upscale- just a comfortable budget friendly...
