The place is very nice and welcoming staff, the server was super friendly but she got very distracted with her co-workers, we never got drink refills and food was a lot but unfortunately the server told us that they were famous for their tacos so I Ordered tacos ,lengua, steak ,chicharron and al pastor. My husband ordered the Carne Azada with doble beans since he doesn't like rice. When the food arrived, my husband food looked delicious, and my tacos not so much , Lengua tacos way overcooked ,steak tacos I'm still thinking that the server got my order wrong because the steak tacos looked like anything but steak, when I asked the server why the steak tacos looks like that she said ohh is because they used achiote for the meat and I was like hmmmm. The I asked her why the tacos al pastor look like that and no pineapple, she replied we don't used pineapple on tacos al pastor because the pineapple makes the meat go bad I was like hmmmmm and then I asked her this doesn't look like chicharron they are just pieces of meat and she replied yes they chicharron tacos I was already disappointed but I was il give it a try but unfortunately they were the worst tacos I had in my life ,tasteless, not flavor , just not good at all I ate them because I was hungry and because I never send my food back ,my husband food came with rice mind you the fact we doble asked her not to put rice anyways, when she came to checked on us I told her that I didn't like the tacos she was super nice and willing to change the order for me but at that point I wasn't going to send my food back. I guess if I give it another try, I definitely won't order tacos. I don't recommend their tacos at all on another hand my husband food was delicious

La Esquina is a solid choice if you're looking for good Mexican food in the area. While it's not the most authentic Mexican experience I've had, I say this as someone who grew up surrounded by genuine Mexican cuisine, where it was almost impossible to find anything else. That said, La Esquina stands out here. The drinks are strong, which is a great start, and the quality of the food is impressive. The meat, in particular, is excellent—better than what you might find in other local Mexican spots. I tried the steak burrito, and the quality of the meat was top-notch. I really hope they maintain this standard because, honestly, there's nothing better than a restaurant that prioritizes quality over cutting corners. I've seen too many places lose their way when they start skimping on ingredients to save a buck, and it often leads to their downfall. While the flavors might not transport me back to my roots, they are certainly the best you'll find in this area. La Esquina might even surpass some traditional spots due to its commitment to quality. One small critique would be the tacos de lengua—they were a bit over-sautéed. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but just a note for the owner to perhaps have a word with the chef about toning it down a bit. Overall, if you're in the mood for Mexican and want something that goes above and beyond the local competition, give La Esquina a try. It's a good restaurant with great potential, and I hope they continue to deliver on quality.

My cousin and I went for dinner. The restaurant was pretty big and the atmosphere was nice. They had a couple singing live music which was nice. The wait staff was very attentive and service was quick. Please note that my review is based on only one taco order. We sat down at a table and almost immediately we got nice hot chips and a small plate with warm refried beans and a small bowl of salsa. We ordered the queso birria tacos and were looking forward to eating them. However, we got our order and the tacos looked good on the plate... but when we tasted them were highly disappointed. The tortillas were soggy and the cheese was almost none existent. Plus the taste of the meat and the broth was unpleasant. I'm not sure what the seasoing was but it was way too much. I ate one bite of the entire taco and only ate the meat. I didn't even touch the second taco. We ordered churros to go and tried them when we got home but they were no good. Overall the restaurant is big and atmosphere was nice but based on the birria tacos I had, I would be hesitant to try anything else on the menu.

This place should be shut down. The food was disgusting, unsafe, and made both of us violently sick within an hour. We had to get medication just to recover. When we called to tell them, the so-called manager flat-out said it was “not her problem.”

The food was horrifying:

The “chicken bowl” was nothing but mushy, flavorless rice with scraps of chicken, no beans, no corn, no peppers, no onions, no cheese, and zero seasoning. It tasted like wet cardboard.

The quesadillas were soggy, paper-thin tortillas with no chicken, no cheese, no char, no flavor, no crunch — honestly the worst quesadillas I have ever seen.

The sour cream was runny, curdled, and looked like spoiled milk with chunks.

The queso was watery, neon yellow, and smelled like rotten eggs. Completely inedible.

This food wasn’t just bad — it was dangerous. No surprise given this restaurant has already been cited multiple times by inspectors for unclean kitchens and violations. It’s obvious they don’t follow food safety rules, and customers are paying the price with their health.

The “customer service” made everything worse. The manager told me to bring the food back, pay for it again, and THEN she’d remake it. She called me “ungrateful,” said I should “work in the restaurant industry” if I thought I could do better, and treated me like trash. To top it off, while I was on hold, I could literally hear her using the toilet in the background — flushing, putting me on hold mid-conversation, and then picking back up like nothing happened. Disgusting and unbelievably unprofessional.

When I explained that the food actually made us sick, she brushed it off, said it wasn’t her problem, and then started cursing at me in Spanish, even telling me I should be deported. That is beyond insulting, especially since I am Spanish myself.

This restaurant does not care about food safety, does not care about customers, and clearly has no respect for human decency. Between the spoiled food, the health risks, and the abusive manager, La Esquina Restaurant & Bar is a public health hazard and a disgrace. Do yourself a favor — avoid this place unless you want to waste your money, get food poisoning, and be insulted for...

Sad to even take the time to write this. Two things: 1: the employees were pushing out a rat from the kitchen while we were there and it seemed like it was not the first time. Barf! 2: they have an undisclosed merchant fee (NON CASH ADJUSTMENT FEE) that they placed our bill AFTER we gave them our credit card. In other words we agreed to pay high food and liquor prices as they disclose on their menu but we did not agree to pay this establishment's merchant fees. It was not disclosed on the menu or anywhere near where we sat to order our drinks and food. This restaurant did not have my authorization to charge my credit card with the fee additional non warranted fee. They did not provide a solution when we realized this fee, in order for us to avoid paying this predatory fee. They could have given me the option to pay $280 cash. I could have gone home minutes from their restaurant. The staff also did not have proper training nor management present to handle our inquiry about this fee. They were hostile in their response to our questions, they also mentioned calling the cops if we didn’t pay BUT they had already charged our card. Every establishment has their cost for doing business. It is wrong to have rats in a food establishment and it is wrong to charge this fee to your customers. For these two things I will not return. Food is not any good and it’s not worth the happy ambiance which is created by happy customers anyways.

The response from the seller days later shows the same hostility that was given to my husband and I. My husband only asked a question about the charge to the waiter and then he asked for the help of another person that said that she was helping that waiter cause there was not a manager. We didn’t agree to that fee, especially since it was placed after our credit card was ran. The owners comment about us not paying our tab is fabricated. I would not write a review if I owed you money. Silly! Most important here is your legal $9 fee you charged is without authority it’s the rat. And you know that it’s true. Don’t be upset with as I had to be upset at your restaurant. I just won’t return and you’ll continue your...
