I recently visited Ella Cafe in Davie and it was a decent experience. This location just opened up and I finally got to see what it was like inside. The shop has a very welcoming atmosphere with comfy seating, beautiful decor, and friendly staff. There were several people enjoying coffee and food while catching up on work or hanging out with their friends. They even have a small table for children to sit at and they have a stage in the corner for an artist to come and sing or play music.
They offer many types of coffees, sandwiches, and pastries but I was surprised when I asked for a menu and they said they didn't have one. I was a little confused about how I was supposed to figure out what I wanted to order. The only way I knew that they offered these items was because they had some on display on the counter. Hopefully, they get to print some menus ASAP.
I ended up ordering a small iced coffee with sticky banana flavoring but unfortunately, the flavor was overpowered by cinnamon. I also noticed several fruitflies flying over the counter and on top of some of the display items. I understand that bugs will always be an issue when there is food around but when they are in plain sight and near where my order is being prepared, it makes me feel uneasy.
Overall, this location has great vibes and good quality. I am willing to give it another chance because of all the stellar reviews it has. We will see how it goes on...

Wishful Thinking:
I truly hope Ella Café considers opening a location in Fort Lauderdale, especially at the Gateway Shopping Center. That area is in dire need of a welcoming, high-quality café like this—somewhere polished yet unpretentious, where community and serenity intersect. Ella Café would fit brilliantly and bring a touch of charm that this part of Fort Lauderdale is craving. Here’s hoping they add Gateway Shopping Center to their growing...
Read moreI visited Ella Café on a Sunday and enjoyed the nice ambience and outdoor seating. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and popular items, which was helpful when placing my order. I got the avocado toast and a hot chai latte.
However, the service could use improvement. My chai latte arrived first—after about 20 minutes—but my food took much longer. I waited outside with my number, expecting it to be brought over as the staff had indicated. After 45 minutes, I checked inside, and the staff seemed surprised that I hadn’t received my food yet. When they looked, my avocado toast was already on the counter—cold—leading me to wonder if it had been sitting there, forgotten.
To add to the experience, when I returned to my table, my coffee was gone. When I brought it up inside, a staff member admitted they had mistakenly taken it. However, they were kind enough to make me another cup and apologized nicely, which I appreciated.
Ella Café has a great location, plenty of parking, and a welcoming atmosphere, but the service needs some attention. A bit more attentiveness and organization would go a long way in improving...
