I can't say enough good things about the Old Davie School House – it was the perfect venue for our wedding! The space was absolutely gorgeous, with so much charm and character, from the beautiful bridal suite to the historic details in the venue itself. It had everything I needed and more, and I couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop for our big day.

A special shout-out to Kris – she was the most amazing person to work with! From start to finish, Kris made the entire planning process seamless and enjoyable. She was so accommodating and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. The level of freedom we had to DIY and personalize the space was incredible. It allowed me to bring my dream vision to life exactly the way I had imagined it.

If you’re looking for a venue that offers both beauty and flexibility, the Old Davie School House is a must. I will forever be grateful to Kris and the team for making our wedding day so magical. I can’t wait to host any future events here, as they cater to more than just weddings – it’s truly a...

I went to this little Davie Museum and honestly I enjoyed every bit of it. THe admission price is OUTRAGEOUSLY low, ten bucks a pop, you really CAN'T beat that price. I started in the school and despite the slightly cramped quarters it's very well kept and clean, easy to walk through (especially if you are along) and every little part of the exhibits given were just great to browse, read about and just look at! Outside of the school itself are three houses, a pioneer one and two old private houses moved to the property. Like the school, both houses are well kept and just fun to walk through and look at everything inside. I went alone into the school but my guide for the two houses was a fun, vibrant, energetic woman who I honestly wish I could have tipped. This little spot kinda makes me thing of a reason why I love the USA; even a small town/city like Davie has its own personal history and THAT is worth something in its own right. The museum deserves to stay up, deserves to be funded, and deserves respect!

Edit: Added some photos of both the...

The Old Davie School House is an absolute treasure for catering companies like ours (Miami Grill Catering). Nestled in the heart of Davie, this historic venue exudes charm and character that sets the stage for unforgettable weddings. From the moment we set foot on the grounds, we're greeted with nostalgia and rustic elegance that enhances the dining experience we create.

Where else would you see a Calf-teria? (The actual name on the bucket) It's much more than just the school building itself, which has a classroom, a room full of old photos (like citrus being loaded onto barges in the canal across the street), newspaper articles, Etc, and a room full of artifacts. The whole second floor is one big room where events can be held. Out back are two historic homes (one a mail-order Sears Roebuck house!) chock full of antique furniture and utensils/tools that people used in their everyday life 100 years ago. There's also a log cabin, an outhouse, a building with citrus sorting and washing machinery from a packing house, a couple of tractors, a garden, and a park. During events like the Orange Blossom Festival, volunteers dress in historic garb and cook food for visitors using cast iron pots and pans over open fires. You can tell the many volunteers take great pride in their town and its heritage, and keep the whole place in pristine condition. They also have really decent docents!
