I'm from northern Illinois. Not like my area is known for barbecue so when I say the stuff at home blows this place and it's competition in the area away then that's a sad statement. To be fair this restaurant was the better of the 2 barbecue places we attempted. They give you plenty of food and the prices are very fair. The staff was very nice. It's just not good. The ribs tasted like they were soaked in liquid smoke flavoring to me. It soaks into your skin on your fingers and won't come off for days lol. I had the ribs and the killer potato with beef. The rib meat was edible although not nearly fall off the bone tender and it was very very fatty.
The other bbq place in town we tried was much worse. I honestly think they cut the meat with a band saw before they brought it out. Paid 70 dollars for me and my daughter and the ribs were so tough I couldn't even touch my food. Broke 3 of the plastic forks they give you.

Sadly, The best food we had the entire trip was at a fast food chain called Captain D's and the huddle house for breakfast. It was pitiful. If you insist on eating bbq in Dayton then this place is your best bet. Maybe go with a sandwich or something but stay clear...

Only 2nd time I’ve been here but won’t be back. First time a year or so ago just had a pulled pork sandwich but didn’t eat it all. Drove from there to Walmart up the road and after only 2-3 bites, I got SO sick and hurting I had to go back home. Had to stop 3 times to throw up. And it was REALLY bad. All I tasted was either the pulled pork or the baked beans. Not sure which made me so sick. Had just a pulled pork plate with beans and potato salad. I’ve had food poisoning years ago. So felt the same. Stomach ached a little next day but was better so it wasn’t a flu or Covid. This visit sealed it for me…sorry won’t return. I’ve had BBQ all over the US and this isn’t...
