Tried Royal Wok for the first time based off of the reviews here.. and honestly so shocked how many people love this. We got General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, crab rangoons and plain lo mein.
The general tso chicken was so chewy and stringy that after 2 bites my husband was done. He said the flavor was not great either and definitely not spicy even a little bit despite me requesting it extra extra spicy.
I usually don't get chicken because I'm very particular about textures so I usually get shrimp but none of the shrimp on the menu sounded great so I got sesame chicken. The texture was so bad I took only 1 bite and couldn't continue. My 2 year old wanted to bite it "with the sprinkles" (sesame seeds) and when she bit it and couldn't chew it, she threw the rest on the floor and my dog wouldn't even eat it, and that is saying a lot.
The crab Rangoons are actually ONLY cream cheese despite being listed as crab. :(
The lo mein had good flavor, I ate some of that.

UPDATE: I moved away from here roughly 7 months ago. There frankly is no restaurant close to how good this place is. I miss it sincerely.
I am a transplant from a more southern city. Chinese takeout is probably my favorite food. I have had a LOT of it- and Royal Wok is by far my favorite. Everything I have had is better than what most places offer- except the sweet and sour chicken. It isnt bad, its perfectly average. The steamed dumplings, general tsaos, orange chicken, and sesame chicken are all top tier. However, the Lo Mein might be the best I have had.
Best Chinese takeout around!

Read moreThis is our go-to Chinese food restaurant. They have really good food and very generous portions. The Chicken Teriyaki Sticks are so tasty and tender. I highly recommend them! The General Tso's chicken is my favorite and I've had it in all spice levels and personally prefer the low to medium heat. The Chicken Lo Mein is great, too. We've had so many of their dishes since we get Chinese food probably there three times a month. If you're looking for something healthier, I would recommend the Steamed Chicken and Broccoli from the health food section. It comes with a sauce in a separate container, but I usually eat it without sauce. It's really flavorful on it's own and I order it when I don't want fried...
