Update: WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY TF DID YOU CHANGE THE BREAD?!?!?! WHYYY?? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING THE GOOD RECIPE BACK!!!!!! SO VERY SAD AND DISAPPOINTED!!
Atmosphere Spahetti Warehouse has been a long time favorite! There's been so many memories created here while going out to dinner with family and friends. I absolutely love the way they decorate at their Dayton location always cool stuff to check out no matter where you end up sitting. My boys LOVE when we get lucky enough to eat in the trolly, they just think its so cool. 🙂 if you have children, or possibly going out on a date id definitely ask if you can sit in the trolly if theyre not insanely busy.
Service Ok so ive gone here a lot over the years as i said so ive had both absolutely outstanding waiters/waitresses, and absolutely terrible.. and some that are just kinda in between somewhere, which is actually what seems most typical here from my experience. And personally i can tolerate that, i don't need a waiter/ waitress thats super bubbly and chatty putting on their best performance to enjoy my time out.. yea a great employee can definitely make the experience better of course but shoot its work, so i can usually look past it if you dont have a crazy happy face on or whatever. I typically never complain when going out to eat, however the one and only time i have did happen here because the waitress was just an extreme case. But the restaurant was quick to accommodate us for our poor experience and all ended well, nothing so bad that i wouldn't go back.
Food 🍝 OMG!!! Even if youre like i hate Spahetti bleh bleh bleh.. go for the bread and butter!! Im obsessed, almost every time we go i order extra loaves to take home ($2 a loaf..i believe, but free endless bread while dining in.) My favorite thing to eat here is their minastrone soup and bread with a Shirley Temple to drink. As a kid i loved their lasagna but somewhere along the way it changed and now not so impressed with it myself but others might love it, im not yucking your yum. Their baked penne is good, manicotti is good, dad and brother love the beer chili Spahetti, kids typically keep it simple with Spahetti and meatballs and apparently like it enough since the continue to order it.
Parking 🚗 Theres a small lot directly across the street from their restaurant, or if you get their by going through Oregon District, there will be a parking garage right before the restaurant that only cost about $2 an hour, very reasonable price to keep your car a bit more protected. If you have to walk too far its a good possibility you'll end up being asked for money by some of Daytons residents .. if you're the type to get bothered by this then eating anywhere in the heart of Dayton may not be for you, or you could do better and come prepared with some spare change, McDonald's sammich, whatever.
Handicap ♿️ They are handicap accessible you can either have whoever is driving breifly park on the street right out front to get in, or park wherever and take the cross walk to get onto the sidewalk infront of their location. They have a double set of doors (like 2 doors then a little enty way and 2 more doors) but both doors can be opened if you have a scooter or wheel chair that require a wider enterance. Tables and chairs can easily be moved to accommodate your needs. Only non-handicap accessible area depending on the limitations would be the trolly, unfortunately I dont believe this section is as far as im aware.
Other locations Im nor sure how many location there are but dont think its too many. Ive only been to 1 other location once and the seating was super cool i loved all the different chairs they had their but outside of that i wasnt really impressed, it wasn't my Spahetti Warehouse lol.
Overall 👍 I 10000% recommend checking out this place at least once, it may not be for everone but i think its...
Read moreA complete and utter disappointment! waste of money!!! WILL NOT BE BACK! HEALTH DEPT INSPECTION IS NEEDED! We chose to dine here after not having been in 8+ years bc it has always been known as a local 'icon' for homemade Italian. Wanted to treat out-of-state guests to a 'historic local taste of Dayton' and it was in close proximity to the Christmas parade we had just attended. We arrived in two groups due to parking issues/street closures from parade... Unfortunately our guests arrived first and had ordered drinks and appetizers w my daughter, or we would have made haste to leave after seeing the DIRTY, dank atmosphere. Carpets looked disgustingly FILTHY, having the appearance of never-been-cleaned or replaced. The tables around us were stacked w dirty dishes that DIDN'T get bussed during the hour we were there (though it was not busy w customers). Furniture old, warn, torn and lacking a good scrub! The appetizers came out quickly and likely bc they were mass produced and sitting under a heat lamp from the taste of them: the calamari was tough/rubbery - couldn't be cut w a knife or easlily chewed and the fry oil tasted long past due to be cleaned/changed. It was Gross and we left it on the plate! The fried pickle spears were greasy, slimy and had a mushy crust!! There were six of us and all ordered dinners.. the food portions were good, but the food was bland, and temperature was lukewarm to cold! The hot dishes were the chicken Parm and baked ziti (which hardly had any sauce or cheese..) VERY disappointing! No one wanted to return them to the kitchen to be reheated after seeing kitchen workers come and go w extensively stained work clothes wiped w dirty finger markings and smears.. even in their black workclothes....or server's loose hair mingling w the plates as she carried them out on her shoulder...YUCK! The server was doing her best but forgot to bring out bread. But the pièce de résistance was the MOUSE that my daughter saw skirting across the floor eating crumbs under one of the tables next to ours, shortly after our food had been served!! OMGOSH!!! She stopped eating and the immediate family could tell by the look on her face there was something VERY wrong. She said she wasn't feeling well and we needed to keave quickly. We paid the bill and left!!! It wasn't until after we left and we're in private, that she told me there was a mouse and was too embarrassed to say anything in front of the guests! DISGUSTING!!!! We will not return!! Sad and disappointed-TO SAY THE LEAST- that this was the representation of 'Iconic...
Read moreActually still sitting here. This place is dumpster fire. Showed up at 4:45 on Saturday. Place is half full. Party of 5 in front of me told it would be several hours before they could be seated. Lots of confusion. Takes a few minutes of conversation before they leave. Luckily we had reservations. Get seated. Waitress comes over obviously harried. I do NOT think she is the problem. Overhearing other tables, it’s clearly a systemic problem here. Starts by apologizing we had to wait for her. Ok, no big deal. We have 1.5 hours, we’re not in a rush. She takes our drink orders and asks us to go ahead and order our food so we do. And she disappears for a while. After a long but not horrific wait 2/3 drinks arrive. No straws. Ok. whatever. Disappears for a very long time. Comes back with 3rd drink in the bottle, apologizes for forgetting the glass. Leaves. Then the real waiting begins. Salads come eventually like 20 minutes later. They’re awful. Garden salad is basically some white lettuce and croutons. Caesar is absolutely disgustingly inundated with dressing making it all but inedible. Appetizer another 20 minutes. Main course another 30. Never got bread plates. Never got glass for drinks. Never offered a refill on ice tea or water much less another glass of wine or beer. Pasta so overcooked it’s mush. Sauce is sugar and tomato paste. Still waiting for my bill. Wife and daughter had to leave to get daughter to her performance on time. I’m still waiting here for my bill. Meanwhile wife is back from dropping off daughter 4 blocks away. No idea when I’ll get to leave. I have $47 in cash in my wallet. I’m sure my bill is probably around $100 but I’m about to just leave the cash I have on the table and walk out but I’m afraid the poor Waitress will suffer for it, so I’ll just sit here and wait. Oh somebody just dropped some dishes. Fun. Bill here. Not waitresses fault so giving her a good tip, but never stepping foot...
