Waffle House — Restaurant in Daytona Beach Shores

Bad experience. Most of the food was wrong.No refills except my coffee once and none of the other 3 were even offered. Waitress was passive aggressive towards my brother when she noticed his food was wrong but he was chill about it. He didn't even notice his egg was missing from his bacon egg and cheese melt until she rudely informed him his egg was missing and rolled her eyes because he hadn't notice and slowly repeated his order back to him. She never asked us for refills but once and it was mine. She didnt look like she even wanted to be there any more and getting our orders wrong and i guess my sleepy baby's crying didnt help much( but we try the whole time to pacify him.)i will give her that. But even our to go orders were wrongand we had to wait to get it corrected. We weren't going to leave anything and we left, but my brother went back in and did ( because the baby) ( my brother is 14) .he goes back in to leave her money after she starts cleaning the table and she didn't like what she got for the poor service and exclaimed are you serious! He left her 4 dollars which was more than she deserved. Maybe she was having a bad day. I dont know but it was really upsetting paying over all over 70 dollars collectively worth of food. First of all let me say that I have eaten at waffle House all across the country and I have never come across one like this. We had to come back the next night because the experience was absolutely mind blowing. They were slammed both nights but when I tell you no one skipped a beat and just handled everything like a boss... Every table was sat including high and low bar, drinks were immediate and the staff was super friendly. We got our food no more than 7 minutes from the time we ordered and everything was perfect. Which brings me to the reason I am writing this review. The cook at this location is specifically what inspired me to write this review. Please don't mistake that everyone was working hard but this guy was absolutely killing it. His name is Dakota. I am only down here for vacation but I can promise you if my company was down here, Waffle House would be finding a new cook for this location because he would be my employee before I left. This is one of the rare times when there is not enough stars to describe the experience. I will drive past every other location to visit this one every year from now on when we are here for...

My wife and I stopped in after the Welcome to Rockville concert. Now granted, it was late, they were short staffed and the place was busy. None the less, customers were standing yet the employees closed half the dining area. As we walked in, a group was leaving with To go orders .Now this is important because we wanted to get our food to go. From the start, who I assume was the manager, had an attitude from hell. We just ignored her snarkiness, and asked to place an order to go. The waitress was fine with this and also seemed surprised when the manager said, no to go orders... My wife asked, " can we order, and after its served ask for boxes to go? " The manager seemed confused but said yes..My wife says" what's the difference between that and a to go order"? I guess we poked the bear. Her attitude became toxic and suggested we should just leave if we don't like it..We are tourists here, our first time in Daytona..although we've eaten at several Waffle house restraunts on our travels, I sure as hell will not recommend this...
