Metz Liquors & Lounge I — Restaurant in Daytona Beach Shores

The only reason I give this bar 1 star is because of the regulars. They’re so nice and welcoming and I’ve had the best time with them. However, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights they have a bar tender named Emma that is beyond rude and frankly unqualified to even run a bar. She’s slow. She doesn’t pay attention. She’s wasted behind the bar. She’s on her phone most of the time and she generally has no idea what’s going on around her. Tonight I walked into the bar with maybe 6-8 people in it, is that enough to even sustain the costs of running a bar? Well I hope so because I walked in with 3 more people and I went to order drinks for all 3 of us. Apparently, she didn’t like the previous tips that one of the people I was with had left her in the past, so she turned the music off and “ANNOUNCED” to the entire bar that she would not be serving us and that the guy I was with needed to leave. I asked why, told her she was only going to have 1 tab - mine and she told me she didn’t care and I could get out and “have a good night”. I asked her if the owner is fine with her just turning customers away for no reason and she said “he only cares about what I want”. So… this will definitely be my last visit here which is sad because I really did love the people I met here. But a bad bartender that expects amazing tips is running this place I guess so I’d suggest finding...

Metz 1 is great, I’ve been going there for months. You can smoke inside, and the drinks are stiff. The night bartender that works Fri-Mon will def over serve you. I’ve seen the ambulance show up for people that are too intoxicated. The regulars can drink as much as they can, before passing out. There is zero responsibility on her part.. She will even take you out to her car parked in front, give you, and smoke Marijuana with you…and also being highly intoxicated by the end of the night. The owners are obviously oblivious to all of this. The owners kid is usually there (or most recently Metz 2) also, highly intoxicated. I have photos and texts to back up my comments. Metz is our favorite bar in DAYTONA! ALL the bartenders are wonderful & hardworking. However, Miss Gloria is our personal fave! This bar has been around.... well, before Daytona was the booming metropolis it is now. The atmosphere is old style, darker in lighting, very clean bathrooms, darts, pooltables etc. LOVE their free popcorn... it's truly yummy! The patrons are a mix of tourists, but mostly local. The drinks are strong & reasonably priced. There's no kitchen, but was there last weekend & there were 5 large pizzas sitting on a table for those to help themselves. We love y'all!!!
