Booked through Expedia. Called to ensure we had book the right room with Ocean front view. Reception call was not bad, expected service and rooms to be better upon arrival. Arrived later than checked in time. Got room 6004, bathtub faucet spout was drastically leaking. Spoke to front desk 3 times to no avail until they finally decided to move us from rooms the following day after checkout time. It was appreciated as sleeping with water leak was really hard. But the first room sofa bed had prior guest sheets still on it, drawers were damaged and very hard to open and rug was damp to the point of nasty with a very strong mouldy, moist like smell. The fridge was not cooling and picture frames on wall were broken. Mold and mildew smell made my kids allergies flare up. Once in other room, bathroom was decent with same room layout. New room was in much better condition. The pool deck and pool don't get cleaned up until the next morning and then they don't ever have towels clean or ready during the morning time. Parking is tight. However there was some good that came with the stay, the individuals providing the services are amazing like Tosonya, besides herself and two others, thier peers sit around hiding outside instead of washing towels early and getting them ready in time. Upon intial arrival I requested late check out and was told to remind front desk on actual the day of check out?! So went with it however, the day of check out I was told it would be at an additional fee of $25.00 for 30 more minutes. Breakfast was disappointing, only good day was Saturday. The rest of the days it was the same thing. The only amazing thing was the view, but I can get that from any other hotel on the same strip. Overall highly disappointed, besides the kitchen staff, the majority of staff make it a point to avoid patrons. Will Not recommend to anyone.

This will be a hard review to make, because while my family and I had a wonderful (1 night) stay here, much of Daytona is trying to recover from the damages caused by Hurricane Ian. Currently, only a week after the storm, Hyatt Place is open, and does have power, but has suffered water and wind damage that has closed off many rooms and certain portions of the lobby, as well as the pools and beach access. In fact, large portions of the seawalls have been badly damaged, and most of Daytona's accesses are restricted use while crews work towards repairing structural damages to many beachfront buildings. The staff could not have been kinder or more accomodating within the available limits of the situation. We greatly appreciated their strength and willingness to make our stay as pleasant as possible while they strive to recover in the aftermath. We had no hot water, and many rooms have damp floors. I will let my pics speak for the experience; saying that our stay was fantastic; Hyatt Place has alot to offer for those seeking a spectacular beachfront vacation! Love, strength, and hope to all those affected by Ian, we wish for a swift recovery for you! 💪❤

We stay at Hyatt often. This is by far our worst experience. First, we booked and prepaid for a two bed with pull out couch room, and when we checked in, we were told all they have is a king bed available. There are 4 of us, two of whom are teenagers and don't want to share a bed with their parents. Second, there is hair that does not belong to us on the pillows. Third, there's no bedding or pillows for the kids. Fourth, the bathroom door broke, and the lock fell right off when my daughter closed it. Fifth, the toilet tank has no water in it, and we have to fill it by hand with the coffee cup. Speaking of coffee, the coffee maker in the room is broken and not working, and the lobby coffee maker is also broken and not working. Sixth, the bathroom lights take time to come on after flipping the switch. Seventh, the front desk staff is not very pleasant to speak too, she kept dismissing us as if asking for clean pillowcases were below her. Definitely will not recommend this one to anyone.

Know before you go. This experience was a huge disappointment. Should have been a dream vacation with an Ocean Front View. We got the view, but the overall experience was a disappointment. Here's why.

  1. No pool, pool bar, upper terrace, spa or beach access. I booked this vacation WAY in advance (8/23) and received an email at the time that due to Hurricanes Ian (9/22) and Nicole (11/22) access to pool, pool bar, upper terrace, spa, and beach access was restricted. But, construction was expected to be completed in the spring 2024. (No problem, right? My reservation was the end of April 2024) I received nothing more until three days before arrival reminding me of my Wednesday check-in. Way at the bottom of the email was the same notice as the initial reservation email. And by at the bottom, I mean way down, below the links for "Contact Us" and the App Store/Google Play logos.
  2. Cancelling did not appear to be an option. I was disappointed, but the email also said that I had to cancel 2 days before my arrival date or forfeit my first night lodging. I really didn’t feel like forfeiting a couple hundred dollars so I sucked it up. When I spoke with the front desk about this he simply said "we wouldn't have charged you that", so my question was, why was it in the e-mail in bold?
  3. The front desk staff doesn't seem to care that guests are disappointed. At first I was appalled that the guy at the front desk had the attitude that it was my fault for not calling the hotel to ask the status of the construction and also not calling about the requirement to cancel 2 days in advance. He stated the current online rates reflected the lack of amenities. I did point out that I didn't GET the online rate, I got the August 2023 rate based off what they projected the status to be. To the manager's credit, she did adjust my rate to the current advertised rate. BUT, the real reason the staff doesn't seem to care is because nearly every customer that came to the desk was unhappy. Unhappy they didn't know there was ZERO access to the beach (restricted doesn't really mean ZERO). Unhappy that the advertised bar menu didn't actually have what was advertised. Disappointed there was not nearly enough parking (over half of their parking lot is still blocked off for "construction"). Overall, no one seemed happy to be there, not guests, not staff. Note: many adjacent resorts have temporary staircases to the beach to accommodate their guests, Hyatt Place did not. Their instructions were to exit the hotel, walk down Highway A1A four properties, and use public beach access.
  4. Due to nearby construction, there is no peace during the daytime. My view from my room is absolutely beautiful, but all day long you just hear the beeping of construction equipment to the left and right of the hotel. Ironically, there was no construction work going on at Hyatt Place. I highly doubt construction will done in 2024 at all.
  5. The "creatively curated breakfast selection" and the bar with a "thoughtfully sourced menu, featuring classic fare with a twist" was basic to non-existent. When I picked up the menu at the bar, the server laughed and said “oh we don’t have anything on there. We only have what’s on the sign.” The sign had a couple appetizers and fish and chips. He informed me they had no fries, so that was just fish. The “carefully curated” breakfast was a basic hotel/motel breakfast buffet. Not bad, but not different than you would get at any motel that includes breakfast. Every day they served scrambled eggs, one meat, breads with a toaster, fruit, cereal. On the weekend I saw a few additional items, some potato triangles like you get at fast food and french toast sticks (I think). Again, not bad, but quite ordinary. I realize the '22 hurricane season was devastating. But, an oceanfront hotel in Daytona Beach without the beach access is really ridiculous. I recommend staying somewhere else. Maybe it would motivate Hyatt to focus: reopen parking, add beach access, and hire contractors to move construction forward...

I booked with this hotel because it had all the amenities and features that my son said he wanted for his 16th birthday. So we check all the hotels and finally settled on this one even though it was more expensive than others that only offered some of the amenities he wanted. So we drive hours to get there and upon check in I’m informed I have to park over a block away from the hotel. I can’t keep an eye on my car and we now have to carry all our bags and supplies for my infant grandson over a block and across a very busy intersection. The valet area and all parking spots were full so couldn’t even drop stuff off and go park. When I explained we had two cars of people and luggage the guy at the counter actually told me that people bringing two vehicles is the reason there’s no onsite parking and that we could only have one vehicle at the offsite parking. When I explained that that isn’t what the website or booking.com stated and pulled it up on my phone he gave me a second parking pass. That was alot. I was upset. What the check in gentleman failed to inform me was that NONE of the amenities that made us choose this hotel were even available. We finally get our things in the hotel to have to wait over 10 minutes in a crowded area to wait for the elevator. There’s no stairs leading to our room which is only on the 2nd floor or so I’m told by the same gentleman. But whatever. Finally get to the room and change into our bathing suits to go to the pool. Get downstairs to find out that amenity is not available, rooftop bar is closed, lobby bar has 4-5 seats that are filled so you can’t get to the bar to even order, no beach access like advertised (we had to climb over a brick wall at the park next door to get to the beach),did not have an ocean view like I paid for. We had had enough and decided to take the kids to the beach instead since we had no other options at this hotel. Get back around midnight (carry sleeping kids a block from car to hotel)and finally climb in the bed just for my daughter to point out that there was blood on the room divider next to my head. There was also food still in the dresser drawers. After everything combined we woke up the next morning and immediately left. I was disgusted with the cleanliness and highly upset that I paid so much for what my son requested only to leave him completely disappointed. A 16th birthday is supposed to be a special milestone for a child. My son was upset that I promised him a hotel with what he wanted for his birthday and then it was a flop. I have never been more disappointed in a hotel and its lack of communication with promised and paid for amenities. Tried to go to the counter to get help that night when we got back to the hotel and no one was there to help and no one would answer the phone when we called. Went down to the desk multiple times and stood there atleast 15 minutes each time to no avail. There was no one onsite or atleast reachable to help in person or by phone. I do have screenshots of what I booked, what the hotel website and booking.com said was back in service and available for use and the condition/blood and food still in the room when we checked in and all the calls to the hotel trying to...

I have been waiting to post this review after speaking to the corporate office and further discussing my stay. I booked a weekend trip on Priceline and paid for the trip in full prior to arriving. Upon walking into the hotel on Friday evening I was approached by a group of young guys sitting in the lobby playing music on a bluetooth speaker and drinking bottles of liquor. While I understand the hotel itself has limited control over guests I found it alarming there is a notice on the back of the hotel room door stating the staff is able to enter the rooms every 24 hours to do a "wellness check" but they do not feel the need to address a group of men borderline harassing a female guest on her own. The front desk was far from welcoming. One out of their 2 elevators was down from Friday - Sunday evening. (I actually spoke to the corporate office today who confirmed the elevator is STILL down!) The room itself did not smell like it had been recently cleaned. The floor, including the carpet was damp and this did not get better once the AC was turned on. The shower liner was dirty. I was provided with 1 small bottle of shampoo and 1 small bottle of conditioner and 1 bar of soap. No other hygiene products were provided and nothing was replenished during my stay. There were menus from takeout places on the room floor upon entering. They did not have any food available for purchase and the outside bartender informed me they have been unable to hire kitchen staff due to covid. I requested pool towels from the front desk and was told someone would bring them out to me once the towels were finished drying. No one ever brought towels. The bar was out of 2/3 drinks I attempted to order and although the bartender was very nice she was unable to multi-task. It took 10+ minutes just to get a canned beer each time I went up. Parking was a nightmare and the back parking lot does not allow access to the actual hotel so you have to walk all the way around the front and go through the lobby. The stairway was disgusting and due to the elevator issue I had to use it frequently throughout my stay. Upon checking out I was told I would get a receipt from the website I purchased the trip with and they were unable to provide any documents. As I previously mentioned I have been waiting to post this review as I was charged almost $2000 for a stay that was $550. The actual hotel charged me multiple times, even though I did not provide authorization for anything other than the $15 incidental charge. I contacted corporate last Monday and I am still waiting for the charges to be refunded and a simple apology from the actual hotel managers. I was informed by someone at the corporate office that the manager Ashley from this location would reach out to me directly and I have yet to hear from her. I went with this hotel chain based on previous experiences at other locations but would NOT recommend this location to anyone. Do yourself a favor and stay...
