Kinfolks Cafe — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

My husband and I tried Kinfolks Cafe for the first time while visiting Daytona Beach. We ordered through Grubhub. The delivery time was on time. Not a long wait. I ordered the catfish dinner. I got mac & cheese and sweet potatoes as sides. My husband got the catfish & shrimp dinner with fries as his side, and he got an order of chicken wings. He started eating before I could get pictures of his plate. All the fried items tasted freshly cooked. (The catfish were real catfish fillets, not Swai. The size looked to be the 5 oz sizes fillet.) All the fried items tasted good! The only thing is that we didn't get any condiments such as ketchup, hot sauce, cocktail sauce, or tarter sauce. This may have been our fault. We're not sure if it was supposed to have been entered when ordering. We didn't see it. The sweet potatoes were good, not stringy. My only disappointment beside no condiments was the mac & cheese. Although the taste was good, it was dry because it seemed to have been sitting for a long time, which caused it to get dried out. I would try the restaurant again if I could get the fresh mac & cheese. (I suggest you make the macaroni and divide it into individual servings and freeze. Take out what you need at the beginning of each day and put in the refrigerator to thaw. Heat the servings as needed. It will taste freshly cooked each time. ... that's my two cents that you didn't ask for. 😊)...

The food taste very good but i only gave three stars because they literally only give me freaking 5 to 6 french fries... I get upset about this frfr because they charge 4 bucks for the fries....like they charging a dollar for each fry...not fair at all big rip off! To make the fry matter worse i just told the guy last night to not be so stingy on the fries. He told me that they say he put too many fries on peoples plate. Like man frfr stop trying people like that...five fries for real tho...then they put all the chicken on top of the fries with about two fries showing on the side to throw you off that there's only three four more fries underneath. The fries aren't big neither...smh very small small with about 2 medium length. I only order from them when i want chicken and fries from door dash so just picture that price.. shameful shame! I had a friend of mine to try some they like dang where's the fries?! This has happened way too many times to where i'm having to leave a negative review only because of some freaking fries. Kinfolks is located across the street from Bethune Grill. We stopped by due to the long wait for wings. The menu offered lots of your southern favorites. It didn't take long to place the orders, but it took a while to get some of the food. I ordered the turkey subs with yellow rice, sweet potatoes and collared greens. I received mac and cheese over the sweet potatoes and when attempting to have it corrected was met with a little push back. What I ordered was on the receipt. What I received was not. After a minute, they gave me the sweet potatoes. I also had the peach cobbler. This small container held a paste like crush and the equivalent on 1.5 peach slices. It's the cobbler you try to serve when you don't want to admit it's all gone. I took 2 bites and was over it. My brother ordered chicken tenders. Those took at least 40 minutes to come out. After folks that ordered well after him received their food, he went back to ask. They never admitted until later that there was an issue with the fryer. The food was merely ok... edible at best (most of it anyway). Would I return... absolutely not. But it filled an immediate need to...
