I will probably never enter this store again. I went into this store to buy 10 WAWA gift cards. The cashier was rude and probably new, as she did not know how to ring up the gift cards on the cash register. While she was attempting to do so, customers lined up behind me all the way to the back door of the store. I suggested to the cashier that she call for help and her response was, "I already did." She was struggling with the gift cards and could not get them to scan for purchase, after 5 attempts with only 2 successions and the line still growing, I told her while she was working on those I would try and find the manager to help either her or the other customers. I went to the food prep area and asked if someone could help this poor struggling person and then I went back to the cashier. As I arrived back at the counter the cashier stepped away to go and reset the self-checkout machines. Then she came back to continue ringing up my gift cards. I offered a suggestion to the cashier when she was having little success with the cards and she picked up the cards that were both scanned and unscanned, handed them to me, and said, "go to another cashier." I got mad, threw the cards back on the counter, yelled an obscenity and left the store, with the security guard on my tail telling me I would have to see a manager before coming back into that store. I went to another WAWA and told my story. It was suggested that I see the GM and explain and hope to be able to shop in that store again, but when I drove onto the property of the 1st WAWA the security guard, Patrick, told me I could not come back onto that property until further notice, but wouldn't tell me what further notice was, a month, a year, what? I said I needed to see the GM, but he said "Get off the property now!" So now I will go to other places for gas and such, unless I am permitted on a different WAWA property. In the meantime, if you are going to use phrases like, "until further notice" you might want to specify what that "further notice" timeframe is. I did not steal anything or even do any damage in the store. My actions were out of pure annoyance with the way the cashier was handling my purchase and treating me so poorly. In this day and age I shouldn't wish bad things even on bad people, but I really hope the cashier gets fired for a lousy job, she truly has no customer service qualities. As far as the wannabe cop, he needs to stop acting like a gun for hire and start acting like a...
Read moreNEW review: *Stopped going to this Wawa when I wrote my last review, after having a bad experience at this location EVERY time I visited... I visited the other day, trying to give this store another chance, as it is the closest to my home... Unfortunately, my old review is STILL accurate. They renovated the store at some point, which looks nice, but the staff is still AWFUL. They will gaslight you, infront of everyone else in the store, if they mess up your order. They will do anything they can to not have to fix THEIR mistakes. Lastly, the other low reviews are also all accurate. Don't waste your time with this location. Drive to another one! A year later and nothing has been changed about the cleanliness, employee (including manager) attitudes, accuracy of orders, etc...? Corporate just needs to shut this location down.
*1 year OLD review: SADLY this is the closest Wawa to me-- and it is also THE WORST Wawa in our area!!! I literally have to drive an extra 3miles to another one whenever I feel like a Wawa trip, and here is why...
Their espresso machine for their handcrafted coffees has SUPPOSEDLY been "broken" for MONTHS now... If I give them the benefit of the doubt, I'll say that this was probably actually true at one point in time-- BUT NOW I am 99% positive that they just keep using this as an EXCUSE to not have to make half of the handcrafted drinks in the morning!
I'll tell you why I think this: I have called them SEVERAL times before BOTHERING to drive up there, and I have specifically asked "if their machine was up yet and if they would be able to make those types of drinks this morning?" I have gotten A YES multiple times!!! YET, when I get there, like this morning, they will STILL SAY "IT'S BROKEN" and that "that is why you can't order those specific drinks..." The customer service here is also terrible. They're incredibly rude about it. My best guess is that their morning staff is more than likely just lazy as all hell and doesn't care about losing the customers for this specific store.
I say all of this to WARN people: DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR GAS DRIVING TO THIS WAWA if you are like me and like their handcrafted drinks! You will most definitely be wasting your time,...
Read moreI rate this particular Wawa four stars. This is because this is a very convenient location for a Wawa as it is the closest one to the beach and frankly, if I was a beachgoer in Daytona and I wanted something quick I'd come here. Also a nice way to grab a quick lunch without being fleeced by the vendors closer to the beach as well (and a great tool for a convention goer, IMO). I will rate the food as a five as I love Wawa's MTO items, especially their hoagies. Always tasty and always good as far as I am concerned as you can top it how you wish and even tell them to go light on some toppings (something I wish they had as an option for mustard, though). Can't really rate it for other food items unless I was leaning on my experiences from Virginia and Delaware locations. And definitely try a roast beef hoagie toasted. Service is good enough. It's still a gas station so I don't expect white glove treatment; just enough service to know my food is being made right and they can get me in and out. Do note I came here during the lunch hour in the middle of the week so your service might vary based on time of day. The atmosphere. Can't say too much - again, it is a gas station at the end of the day. It isn't in the beachfront or the nicer areas of town so do mind what time of day you visit. But it was generally clean and well kept. In terms of the overall experience, this is a four. If you're on the beachfront for a conference or on the beach, this is a five for convenience and not having to be fleeced for...
