Divine Dessert — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

Very disappointed and unacceptable treatment from divine sweets. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday on Wednesday for her party on Saturday. I gave them the picture of the cake I want and they said it will cost me $90. I paid in full the $90 on the spot. The guy calls me on Friday and tells me sorry we can't make it for $90, It got many colors and i have to charge $180. You come at the last minute to change your mind and tell me you will charge me the double??? You didn't know that it got colors when the girl took the pic from me and showed it to you? I told him it wasn't my fault, you guys gave me a word and put the price and I paid already. But, he was very rude and kept saying I won't do it for $90 and it's up to you. All I can offer you is $30 discount. Well, you know what it's not about the money, it's about the bad and disgusting treatment you give to the customer and about changing your word at the last minute, a day before the birthday thinking you will force me to pay because i got no choice. You are disgusting!!! Well, guess what, I got my daughter's cake made from a reputable bakery for less than your price and they accepted to do it in this short notice. But, iam not gonna say their name so you don't say iam advertising for them. I will never return to this store again and iam telling everyone about your attitude and greed and the horrible customer service I got from you. Everyone be careful dealing with this store, they will change their word on you at the last minute to force you to pay more. Stealing from customers in the name of business!! They're not reputable, untrustworthy and they don't care losing customers all they care about is the money! I hope you close down soon because we don't need people like you in...

I normally don't give bad reviews, but wow. Honestly, this batch of cakes was inedible. Out of the 12 cakes I got, 2 or 3 were OK enough to eat. I literally spat one of the cakes out because of how horrid it was. I'm not sure if they just forgot to clean out their two-week old desserts or if they spilled something in the batch, but we've never tasted anything as bad as one of those cakes.

At first, we thought it was just one bad cake from the bunch, but we proceeded to try them all (that's why they're bitten) and realized that they all tasted absolutely disgusting. Some tasted really bitter (not like a dark-chocolate bitter but more like a "something is not right" bitter) and others were just flat-out inedible; it's sort of hard to explain the flavor. It's a real shame to be leaving a review like this, but I just couldn't live it down. I tried calling back and they were closed, which is what brought me here. I've had their sweets before and I've never had an issue. It wasn't until my last few visits that I've noticed their quality plummet. However, this time around, I just couldn't turn a blind eye.
