EDITED 6/21/2018 After reading the apology from the manager I changed my review from one star to four. I still will never come back here, however I appreciate the customer service. People make mistakes, and we can not control everyone we can only control ourselves. Thank you for acknowledging the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior of your staff. I hope you have better luck hiring better people in the future. I used to like coming here with my sisters until I saw how they treated my mother- an elderly woman. My mom came into Saj (mind you we drive to Saj all the way from Novi because we like supporting Arab American businesses) and ordered twenty manqeesh for a brunch we were hosting. The gentleman behind the counter rolled his eyes and said to my mother (before even saying "hello") WE DON'T HEAT UP MANQUEESH FOR BRIDGE CARD HOLDERS. Even if we were bridge card holders that is so rude and unprofessional to address anyone that way- irrespective of their financial status! The first thing out of anyone's mouth should have been hello, not an inappropriate assumption based on IDON'TEVENKNOW The manqeesh were not only thin, and dry- but he burned half the batch The food was bad, and the customer service was worse I begged my mother to let me call the manager, but she is a sweet lady who didn't want to get the boys working there in trouble.
She said the best way to deal with bad business is to simply never...
Read more"I am thrilled to have discovered Saj Cafe and Bakery, a hidden gem that has stolen my heart with its authentic Middle Eastern flavors and warm hospitality. This charming establishment is a must-visit for anyone seeking a genuine culinary experience.
The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries, which set the tone for a delightful culinary journey. The menu boasts an impressive array of traditional dishes, expertly crafted with love and care.
The saj bread, baked to perfection on a traditional griddle, is a highlight not to be missed. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, it's the perfect accompaniment to their flavorful dips and spreads. The baklava, too, is a masterpiece, with its delicate layers and sweet, nutty filling.
What truly sets Saj Cafe and Bakery apart, however, is the warmth and welcoming nature of the staff. They take pride in their heritage and are passionate about sharing their culture through food, creating a sense of community and connection.
In short, Saj Cafe and Bakery is a culinary treasure that will transport you to the Middle East. With its authentic flavors, cozy atmosphere, and warm hospitality, it's a must-visit destination for foodies and anyone seeking a genuine cultural...
Read moreThe new employee there are disrespect. I asked a worker there for a cake in English and in Arabic he did not understand me. I went to the glass and I pointed for him which one I am talking about, he became so mad and I heard him cussing me and he started talking to me rudely. I told him I am your mom's age and I am not teaching you but I am showing you which one I want. He said loudly keep it to yourself and I do not need you to teach me and he continued cussing infront of everyone. And when I asked for the manager to talk to him. He said there is no manager and another worker (his brother) came saying that there is no manager on the floor. Finally a manager came with the long hair was the rudest person ever and the first word told me to take my business to another place before listening to me. I believe they are now sacred of their employee because there is no workers now to find and they prefer to lose a customer instead of losing an employee unfortunately. Even I do not want him to lose his job, but I want them to teach him how to talk to customers but unfortunately, the manager does not know how to talk to customers so it will not hurt if the...
