Hamido Restaurant — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

WILL NOT BE BACK! My wife and I copied a list of well-known restaurants, ranging from Detroit and Dearborn, all the way out to Sylvan Lake. This place was one of the last spots on the list for us to visit. The staff really wasn’t welcoming, and it was clear they didn’t speak english very well. We were about to walk out since we didn’t know what we wanted, when another customer who was leaving recommended the Shwarma Plate to us. I figured, “well let’s try it,” and so we stayed for the food.

First red flag was that there was only one other table in there that had paying customers, and yet, somehow it took 15-20 minutes just for some salad. When it came out, I admit, The food was delicious. We also ordered some pomegranate juice, which came out after the salad. Second red flag was the waitress just setting the plate with our drinks on the table without so much as an, “excuse me.” The Shwarma plate that was recommended to us earlier had quite a large portion. It had great taste and was very fresh! However, It’s what came after which was the problem.

After me and my wife finished our meal, we waited for another 10 minutes for the waitress to bring the bill. When she did, the total was $55. So I gave her my card, and an $8 tip, and my wife went to the bathroom. There was only two other tables with customers, so tell me why it took another 10 minutes for our bill, (and the slip to sign,) to come back? She then told me she had made a mistake, and brought out THREE different bills she wanted me to sign.

I was so confused, I mean, I literally sat there with a calculator and showed her that the other bills she brought out to the table we’re incorrect. Then she tried to get me to sign another bill that was $60. I repeatedly explained to her that the amount I was being charged was incorrect. All she had to do was be an adult and change it to what it originally was. But instead of doing her job, she magically came out of nowhere and said there was a 4% charge for using cards, (which was NOT listed anywhere on the menu. Or on a sign.) My wife came back from the bathroom and was pretty mad about sneaky and shiesty charges coming out of nowhere that we weren’t told about. It also didn’t help that we were the only black customers when this, “mistake,” happened. The service was trash, and killed the whole mood. Unless you like trash service for decent...

This place is honestly a cheat!!! We ordered a chicken shawarma and we told them we wanted fries on the side and they said okay, when we got the sandwich we found that they put fries inside the sandwich so we ate one bite tp try it and in that one bite we see a huge piece of long hair just sticking out of the sandwich( someone forgot to bring there razor with them) so we tell the waitress and she took it back with no comment and she showed it to the owner then she came back and was like okay we make u new one with no apology and we tell them again that we want the fries on the side not in the sandwich and this time she brought the sandwich with no fries also we ask for two whole fried chicken, we got the order and it looks terrible!! Its super salty and its impossible for someone to eat that without getting sick and we ask them why its salty and they gave us a stupid answer saying that this is normal. It was so nasty and salty that we can't even finish them! Also the place is very dirty and the seats are sticky the tables are sticky and so is the ground it feels like im in a zoo amd the bathroom is a mixed gender bathroom, it feels like im in a wrong place when i go in, the faces of the owner amd the workers on the counter look like they just finished a wrestling game that they just lost with someone My advice to all you people that are planning on coming here is to just forget about this place and dont even set foot in here bcz u will be disappointed big time.
