Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

Wow! I was really surprised when I saw the rating was only 2.4 and for this location. I am a pizza snob and connoisseur and in my opinion, Marco's is the Best commercial pizza place and this particular location on Pelham in Dearborn Heights. I like a pizza filled with air and strong gluten rest so rise well (1"+) on the crust, which Marco's has always done with a lot of void in the crust. The sauce is great and does not burn my stomach like some pizza places (Bonito's). I don't get to eat it so often as moved and it's a 20-30 min drive one way. Yesterday's pizza was good, but there were some changes I noted from all my previous experiences and a little disappointed in one, but I'll try to identify them. Pros: The pizza was done perfectly (color) and hot. The sauce tasted great as always, so very happy with this. The cheese was thicker than other places and very "gooy", so when you pulled a piece away, the cheese stretch and indefinitively. The pizza was "heavy" and when compared to other pizza places ordered from, I would say, 2 to 3 times!! Not sure why, maybe the cheese and maybe the dough more dense? The bottom was done perfectly, but more "cracker-like"! Some people may like this, some maybe not. I like a still bottom, but not cracker like and this was different than I had before! So, not sure if any changes to the dough recipe or how being cooked, but noted the difference and not as I would have expected and preferred. My biggest disappointment was the crust! As I said, I like a lot of airyiness and voids and this one was not as I had in the past! Likewise, it was lower-rise, say 1/2" instead of the 1" I'm used to and prefer.

Do to the above, I can't rate it as a "5" as previously. I think a "3" would be too low and they don't allow any partial ratings, therefore, I will have to rate it a "4", but still, significantly higher than the 2.4 average and hope they take this constructive criticism into account and make the necessary changes to bring back to where it was, so that I can rate it a "5". Right now, my #2 is Hungry Howie's, which they do have a very negative in it's not temperature "hot" when I pick it up! That was not a problem...

My family was very recovering from a terrible illness and the car battery was dead we had no help available at the time so we ordered here. The delivery driver was a gentleman. The pizza was terrible it was a Philly steak and the mushrooms were CANNED even the girl told me on the phone in the store they we fresh from the markets and fields. The vegetables were raw and the dough was not completely cooked. Nobody cold eat it not even Archie my west highland so I had them to please send another as we had no transportation. This is where ordering online is becoming increasingly difficult. The store told me it was not there issue it was a third party and I should see about refunding my pizza at the computer. Then the third party says it’s the stores issue. The store offered me a credit for another time I order?!?!?! Are you kidding a $30 dollar flush right down the toilet.

UPDATE: The third party says it’s the store’s problem and vice versa. The owner so quick to resolve this referred me to message a FB page that I can’t even do that on. I want a refund what is sooo hard about that?? For 1 pizza that was $34.00.

I was supposed to get a credit for this pizza so I called today to get it and they told me they had No receipt for any order on the date of purchase. No refund or credit it’s a lies and the Manager hung up on me. Do yourself a favor Do not go here the staff is lazy, rude and has no integrity. Go to Papa’s Pizza NEXTDOOR! They have Fresh mushrooms instead of these cheap...

Ordered 2 pizza bowls , small pizza with pepperoni and mushroom and a brownie. I pick up the food take it home open the pizza box and I can’t even describe what it looked like! All the cheese was only on 1 side of the pizza and there was a part of the pizza that didn’t have sauce cheese or sides on it! So I take it back up there to have them remake another one for me , by the way my other food is at home getting cold! The guy says oh I’m not sure what this is! I’ll make u another one , it will be 10 min. I wait 10 minutes get the pizza go out to my car open the box and the he pizza only had pepperoni on it it was supposed to also have mushrooms on it. So I go back in and tell them I ordered pepperoni and mushroom , he says oh sorry I will give u credit to replace it for next time but he can’t figure out how to give me credit so he had to get someone else to help. After about another 10 min I said can u replace my full order since my other food is at home now cold! Lady says no I’ll give u credit for a small pizza with an attitude!! I never ever put reviews on any place I have ever gone to because it’s not my thing but I was livid! How do u run a business like this , I go home tell my husband they didn’t put mushrooms on his pizza eat my cold pizza bowl and I will never again order from here again! I’m not even gonna use my free small pizza that they gave me credit for!! If u want good service with food that looks appealing...
