Dined in. Place looks a bit dated, but otherwise clean. I got a cheeseburger with double patty, fries, and a milkshake(banana pudding). Burger patties were smash patties, and both were perfectly charred. And I mean PERFECT. As a former cook in the kitchen, I am sad that I can't emulate it at home because of the lack of ventilation(unless i want to set off the building, lol), so being able to bite into such a burger was a chef's kiss experience.
Fries were great; I was conflicted about whether to get the reg fries or the cajun, but the owner(?; it was a guy who took my order and at the register, so i assume its the owner, if not sorry) suggested that he could put some cajun seasoning on the side so I could try it. It wasn't bad, but not for me; plain fries were great enough. Might be nice to get some kind of garlic variant.
Milkshake was delicious, albeit a bit pricy for the quantity you get. Should be a few oz. more for $7, but at least its made with real ice cream(Hershey's); anything less than real for that price would be a ripoff. $7 not a big deal to me, but it may be to some. They also don't have a pure strawberry ice cream(a crime IMO), but they do have vanilla and chocolate. That allowed me to try something new(banana pudding), and I thought it was pretty good, so you may too.
The only negative I could say is that they don't have bacon; so if bacon on your burger is a must, you won't find it here. However, any cook and burger enthusiast worth their salt knows a GOOD burger doesn't need it; and fortunately, Iceburg delivers.
Owner was very hospitable and checked up to make sure everything was okay. Grade S experience, would definitely recommend and will...
Read moreImmediately greeted by Hosssain when I walked in. Not crowded and very clean inside. Simple menu of burgers and ice cream. I'm always leary of a huge menu as in my experience this means they don't focus on doing any particular thing well. My order was sent very quickly to the cooks. I ordered a burger w lettuce, habanero cheese, jalapenos, a sauce. The bun was not a sloppy oversized mess but perfect size for the burger. It was neat and not falling apart as I ate it. I asked for med well and they cooked it perfectly. Came w nice thick fries. I also ordered cheese sticks and a Pepsi. It was fast and the service was great by a young lady named Ella. I didn't have room for dessert but it looked good. Ella said "next time save some space for it, we'd not be disappointed". Bathroom water was hot which is always a good thing. They have a Edsel Ford color theme inside but my kids go to Dearborn High. Doesn't matter when the food and service are good. I highly recommend and so you know I'm not a "bot" nor did I receive I kickback for my honest opinion. Trust me, there are other places very close by I will never recommend after the just ok food and HORRIBLE service. You decide...
Read moreWe have had a full 5 star experience every time we've dined here as a family. Even carry-out experience has always been exceptional. However, my most recent trip was a little lack-luster. I always get the turkey fold-over, and it's my favorite. But the cheese wasn't melted and gooey like every other time. It seemed the outside of it was hot, but the turkey and cheese inside didn't get hot. The red cabbage coleslaw is usually very good. But this time, it seemed to be changed and was quite bland and tasteless. I had to add my raspberry vinaigrette to it for flavor. My son got his favorite cheese burger. But the cheese seemed to be just thrown on cold. It wasn't melted over the burger. Maybe it's a new person in the kitchen, I don't know. They also need to add some light filtering shades. The windows are on the sunsetting side of the building, and if sitting by a window when the sun is setting, it shines right in your face, even our server had to step back to find shade. We live nearby and will definitely come back. It's a family favorite. We just hope our recent experience isn't an indication of it...
