Mr. Chicken — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

Can't quite describe the vibe of this place. Seated our selves and was quickly approached by waitress with drink request and a menu. Ordered drinks and began looking around as the place had an old feel to it. Ordered the chicken and shrimp combo, it also came with two sides. Ordered a breast and wing ,which is $1 extra but fine. Came with 6 pieces of shrimp that were or looked and tasted store bought. Needless to say the flavor was decent and the shrimp to breading ratio was balanced. Sides were coleslaw and potato wedges. Wedges were the best I've had yet. Tender and fresh but super hot beware as the are cooked to order. Coleslaw was super finely chopped and almost like mush, but flavor was good. Chicken was a 3 out of 5 stars. Not the best I've ever had and definitely not the worst. Wing was tender ,crispy and fell apart when bit. A bit sticky for wings,but not bad. I urge everyone to always check your takeout regardless of where or who. I normally do that because restaurants are not what they used to be, especially the ones you liked in the past, as in this case. I last purchased here a couple years ago, the delay is because it is all the way across town for me. It used to be great and i recommended it to everyone. But no more. I went against better judgement and received the order, took it home, and was totally disappointed. It was all bad. It was so bad I did not want to take it back for fear they would give me more. Nothing was cooked right, it looked gross. The slaw was mushy, the fish still looked wet, the chicken…I cannot describe it without using the most vulgar profanity. It was that bad. In the future I will spend elsewhere, hope your experience is better than what I was given. If I could do a Lamar Kendrick diss track I would, because the chicken really did...

The best broasted chicken hands down and has been for a good 20 years I know for sure! I learned about it when I was maybe 12/13? My son is 19 now, lol so yeah

This is way better than Chicken Shack and I have always been devastated that there isn't an east location. Driving from Rochester Hills is a bit much ohhh but baby its worth it!

The chicken is JUICY! The coleslaw is wayyy better than KFC! Broasted potatoes are great too! If you have soggy food, its because you waited A GOOD WHILE to eat your food after receiving it!

The only downside is the waitresses are kids and they truly do not care to have that job. My waitress completely ignored me, took forever for her to come wait on us and there weren't many people in at the time. There were 2 waitresses and they both were slow, inaccurate, and careless. I would have much rather served myself with their attitudes.
