I’ve been waiting to get a seat in Sky hookah lounge for months. My boyfriend and I finally got a seat in this specific lounge to see what all the hype is and I must say, at first I was intimidated by the strong Arab atmosphere. It’s almost as if they were surprised to see a black woman in their establishments. Ray the floor manager was great from the moment I stepped in the door. He quickly got my name and made sure I was seated as soon as possible. Originally he told me the wait time was 35 minutes. I was seated in about 5 minutes. Ray came over once we had our hookah and food and checked on our service as well as checking on other tables. The hospitality made me feel welcomed and at home. Side note . (I managed 4 hookah lounges in Cincinnati under an Arab owner for two years.) It was busy and everyone was moving.
When I was brought to my table, it was still dirty from the last customers. The server was apologetic as it was extremely busy. The servers name was “Z”. She was a beautiful soul, friendly and kind. Z explained how the ordering system worked at Sky lounge which included a “QR” code. Z was an expert at serving not needing a pen and pad to take our order she got everything right!
I ordered the “Baba Ganoush” and a cranberry juice. My boyfriend ordered “Sunday Morning” and an Apple juice. The apple juice was freshly squeezed and delicious! Our food came out fast and hot. The Baba Ganoush was fresh and tasted great! The sushi was hot and had a great flavor!
For my hookah, I ordered a blueberry mint with an orange head. My hookah was made to PERFECTION! It wasn’t over packed and the flavors mixed well. The mint was the highlight because it was strong. The lounge had options of quick light coals and natural coals. I of course had natural coals. They have the standard Khalid Mahmoon hookah’s. My hookah was clean and did not taste like any old flavors, which is a hookah highlight for me.
This is one of the best hookah lounge experiences I’ve had while in Michigan.
Thank you everyone for your great...
Read moreFood was great portion and pricing. Huge issue with the service - takes too long to get a server to even take your order. Most servers are extremely rude. One kind server finally took our order and confirmed to us, our friends who they seated at a different table can move to sit beside our table - as there was empty 6 seat area. We are group of 10 and spent a lot of money….,food, drinks, shisha, dessert, etc. after this agreement, we noticed some other guy seating someone else beside us. After letting him know we told the server and they were seating our friends beside us instead, we were replied with “who said thT to you? I don’t care… a server??? im the manager I don’t care what he said, what I say goes”. he completely disregarded us, didn’t even try to hear us talk, responded so rude and turned his back as we were talking to him. He left and came back and seated ONE man in a 6 table setting instead of our friends who have been waiting longer, we’re promised the table. Then he came back and had the man move, and put our friends after. Not sure what made him change his mind … after he looked dumb… maybe? also walked by and bumped my arm and didn’t even apologize. Overall so rude - food and atmosphere great but I can’t get over the rude service. I wish I could talk to the owners about this… so disrespectful not how to run a business to treat people. The “manager” tonight with the navy sweater and “puma “ yellow logo on it was extremely unprofessional and for someone so proud of being the “manager”…doesn’t know how to manage. shouldn’t speak low on his coworkers and maybe should ask his coworkers before disregarding the customers.. don’t think I’d come again due to the manager… unless...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place because the vibe was great, but the experience didn’t live up to it. It was way too crowded—tables were packed so tightly that it felt like I was sitting with the people next to me. On top of that, it was so loud that I had to practically scream just for the people at my own table to hear me. Definitely not the kind of place where you can sit back and enjoy yourself.
Service was just as frustrating. It took forever to get a waiter, and then an even longer wait for our order to actually arrive. When my latte finally came, it was lukewarm at best and a quarter short of the cup. I asked the waitress about it, and she just shrugged and said, “That’s the way they come.” It wasn’t even about wanting more, but if you’re going to charge for a large, why serve it in a big to-go cup with the amount of a small? Makes no sense.
I also ordered a crepe, which came out fine, but when I asked for a side of white chocolate, the waitress immediately said, “It doesn’t come on that.” I told her, “That’s okay, I’m willing to pay an upcharge,” but she just stood there staring at me in silence until I finally gave up and said, “Never mind.” It was honestly so awkward and unprofessional.
The only thing this place has going for it is the atmosphere, but between the overcrowding, the noise, the slow service, and the disappointing drinks, it’s just not worth it. Definitely wouldn’t go out of my way...
