The other day my friend was craving some middle eastern food and instead of going to our usual place we settled on trying the food at Sheeba Restaurant. Let me start off by saying that our waiter was fantastic when he found out that this was our first time he immediately started with a few recommendations and making sure we had no questions about the menu. He was very attentive to our needs and overall he made the experience for us. (I just wish I could remember his name)
The food was amazing my friend ended up getting a small chicken salad with a shwarma sandwich. The salad she ordered came out and it was a decent size for a small and went above her expectations and mine. I ended up getting the Sheeba Galabah which was made with lamb and some kind of tomato sauce served over a bed of rice and the lamb soup. The soup came out first and it was delicious. When the waiter set the soup down he asked if we wanted to try it with their house sauce. He said "it will add to the flavor of the soup and it's highly recommended." I had to try it out so I did and he was not wrong it really added to not only the flavor of the soup but also the texture a little bit.
The Sheeba Galabah was fantastic very rich and savory and the portion was huge I had enough for three meals so I was not mad at the price tag of $19.95. Overall the experience was fun and unique and this was my second time going out since some of the restrictions where lifted. They even brought us out hot towels to freshen up with that where fragranced with perfume and oils. It was an awesome way to end the meal. I can honestly say I am looking forward to coming...
Read moreWhen you first walk in, it says to wait to be seated, but no one approaches you, so you need to seat yourself. It was empty the entire time we were there; that was the first hint. So, we had a waiter come over and take our order, who was not very helpful with questions about the dishes. The food came in 15-20 minutes, and it all looked good. The lamb came right off; it was very soft. The bread seemed fresh and hot; everything looked amazing, but it was flavorless. I don’t mean there was very little flavor; I mean there was none at all, and then the bread was still doughy; it was slightly raw. But the main thing is the lack of flavor. The last thing was the atmosphere; there was a pile of crap in the bathroom not cleared up, and it looked super easy to clean. I could smell it from the table and went to investigate. A few minutes later, they started bukhur (fragrant, smoky incense) to cover up the smell. Like I mentioned before, the place was pretty empty too, so I’m not sure why they couldn’t clean it. They had the bill come in a treasure box. 😭 Eight small sambosas were almost 30 bucks, and they tasted bad and were burnt. Also, they tried to rush us out and asked us if we were ready to pay while we were still sitting down. I’m not here to shame, but this is not quality food, and I hope this helps anyone avoid wasting money and time...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant because it is my brother's favorite place. I was planning a surprise "70th birthday" for him with family and friends (about 25 to 30 total). With a group that size, most restaurants require reservations and no separate checks. I called two weeks in advance to make arrangements. The gentleman I spoke to was very cordial and willing to accommodate my requests. When we arrived, we were seated with room for everyone and extra, if we needed. Our server made suggestions (it was the first time for some), and answered any questions about menu choices. Our drinks, appetizers and food were served spaced apart so we did not feel like we were being rushed. The Turkish coffee was awesome, you have to try it. Our food was full of flavor, so there was a lot of sharing. We brought a birthday cake for the surprise and the restaurant supplied the candles (I forgot to bring 😬). The cake was brought to our table with the staff singing Happy birthday. It was a wonderful experience and a great surprise for my brother. The restaurant staff went beyond what I had expected, from the initial phone call and ending with our dinner. If you're looking for a different and wonderful dinner/gathering, Sheeba is this place. If possible, I would give more...
