My daughter and I stop care for a late lunch the other day. When you first walk in the sign says please seat yourself at a clean table. Well that was hard to do because it was very few clean tables. We saw a waitress clearing a booth and asked if we could sit there and she said yes just give me a minute. We then sat at the booth. The waitress came over after sitting there for about 15 minutes to take our drink order. NEVER INTRODUCED herself by name. I ordered coffee and my daughter ordered a soda. She brought my coffee but no spoon. I asked creamer and the sugar bowl was empty so I asked her for sugar. Scrub sugar off the table behind her Sat it down heavily and said this is sugar. And I asked for a spoon. About 10 minutes later she came to take our food order. My daughter was going to all order the buffet and asked what was in the buffet. Then said I'm going to go look and see what's there before I order it. The buffet was not set up and when the waitress came back we told her it was not there and she said let me find out. The waitress came back to tell us that the kitchen was having issues today so that the buffet was not going to be put out that day. I ordered a simple breakfast .. My daughter ordered the chicken fried steak with fried okra and hash browns, It took 45 minutes to get our food. The people that came and sat in the booth 15 minutes after we were there got their food before we did We inquired about what was taking so long and she again said that the kitchen was backed up because they had some issues. Are food finally got there and my daughter's food had country gravy all over everything on the plate Not just the country fried steak but over the okra over the hash browns.. I did not even know the waitresses name until she brought the check and her name was on it. Also there was a piece of cantaloupe that was on the floor that this waitress walked back and forth over at least 20 times without picking it up. She only picked it up after I said there's a piece of fruit there You might want to pick it up before somebody slips on it and falls. She turned around and looked at the fruit and then rolled her eyes before turning around to go pick it up.
This was my first and last time at Brandi's country kitchen. Terrible service. Much longer wait time than should be. Kitchen needs to...
Read moreA couple we know discovered that Brandi's Country Kitchen has added a evening dinner menu in the other part of the restaurant that used to be the Chisholm Trail but now is Brandi's Country Kitchen off of Hwy 287 on the south end of Decatur, TX. Four of us couples went on a Thursday night, and were blown away by the restaurant's food. We ordered a "bacon crostini" appetizer which was a fun and completely original way of serving a cheese, bacon and toasted bread. Several of us ordered steaks, and commented on the tenderness of the beef and the delicious seasoning and flavoring. We had a variety of vegetables as sides, and everyone loved theirs. The pork chops were great, the loaded baked potatoes delicious. We heard that they serve a delicious entree of elk, using the owner's own favorite recipe. The server was having her first night, but clearly was experienced and knowledgeable of what the restaurant offers (even some things that were off menu). Food sensitivities were totally respected and so my wife who is often limited to salad when we go out enjoyed a full meal. We all commented that the layout of the restaurant (attached to, but not used for breakfast and lunch part of the restaurant) had a great ambience, not noisy, with attractive art on the walls (a horse theme). We drove to the restaurant from Haslet, and will definitely make the trip regularly. Currently the restaurant does not have a liquor license so it's "bring your own beverage" which resulted in fun sharing among our group. It was a memorable occasion. Being from outside the area, we were not aware that the owner has several restaurants in this county. Her experience shows in offering something original and high quality with good value for the price. This is the day after we visited and my mouth waters at the memory...
Read moreI’m not the type to write bad reviews nor bash a restaurant since I like to give the benefit of the doubt. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have never felt discriminated till I walked into this place. We were a party of 7 Hispanics, I was scanning the restaurant to see if there was any big tables available (as you know it’s self seated there’s no hostess that will sit you down) right off the bat I felt and saw the ugly looks of some of the waiters. while I was scanning. one of the waitresses yells at me from a distance in a really rude manner asking me how many are we. I told her 7, she brushed me off and said no tables are available. So I saw 2 tables that were next to each other, and sat half of the party in one table and the other party on the next table. We were having a hard time having someone to attend us, while all the waiters were attending everyone else around us. one of the workers passed by and I asked if we can put the 2 tables together which she said no, The tables were not on the workers way nor to the customers, so I said why not if the tables are not in the way and they’re next to each other. she said she will ask the manager, no one came to check up on us, no one came with a response nor to attend us by this time 40+min had passed by So I started to put the tables together and I just see a worker that said no w his finger from far away Which I thought it was really unpleasant since he was just standing there doing nothing just watching us, easily he could of attended us, & to top it off there was other 2 parties bigger than mine, and their tables were put together (did I mention they were white?) We decided to leave & we ain’t coming back. If your ethnicity is not white do not come here, take your money...
